Good things about the game today.

We covered! Yay! Exceeding expectations!

The cardinal/white/cardinal uniform combination makes its triumphant return and looks great...

Was at the game and the play that killed it for me was the TCU 4th and 1 play. The linesman was about a half yard behind the 1st down when he came running out to spot it, but by the time he got to the ball he was right on the 1st down spot. TCU goes in for a TD a few plays later.

I know one play doesn't make or break a game usually, but it can sure kill a teams heart. I was just glad to see the team come out after that and still work hard. So many times, as Iowa State fans, we've seen that same type of call go against us and the team just seems to deflate.

The spot looked about right on TV.

I really love the tight end, Chandler. Wish we would have gone back to him after the one hand grab. I was assuming his limp was just a cramp, but not sure.

Also, their coach always seem to be at least a little merciful.

I guess there are some positives to take away from the game. Haven't looked at the numbers, but it seemed that ISU was able to run the ball a bit better, and Lanning has found his sea legs as well on the ground. park got some more meaningful minutes.

I think Lanning is still our guy, but Park does have the look of a QB that could put a few big throws together somewhere down the road, and start to look semi-impressive.

Seemed that there were far more 3 and outs than not for ISU, so thats still a major problem.

I know a lot will laugh but considering we had another starting Oline out today and Fett was playing out of his position and we did better today at times on offense I still think this team can win 3 games maybe 4 with some luck.We can do that but we have got to start creating turnovers..2 INT should have been today if the DB was a playmaker. J Jones had one in his hands and it would be nice if our DBs on long pass plays would turn around some times.. Some times our D looks ok and other times it just looks lost. We are not getting enough pressure on the QB's.

I'm still frustrated that we aren't getting the ball on the outside enough to Deshante and KENE and Montgomery..

.

I've noted this too. Makes me wonder if somewhere in history ISU helped pull for them to get into the Big 12 or something.

I didnt have the chance to watch or follow the game today, but just by looking at the numbers it seems to have been a better game overall as a team. The fundamentals seem to be improving which to me is the biggest factor in how the season goes. Fewer stupid penalties, 0 turnovers, and fewer major mistakes. Still a long ways to go. But if they can treat San Jose as a new beginning I think we can beat them and hopefully get something going.

Everyone, I love that scouring the new posts today there's no meltdown threads! Thank you! There were mistakes today, but those guys didn't quit. The hot conditions were miserable! But they didn't quit. They had every reason. But they didn't quit. They wore ugly shoes. But didn't quit. I guess what I'm saying is... they didn't quit, and thank you.

GP has always been a class act. One of my favorite Coaches to date. The issue is we have other coaches in our conference that like to pile it on and pat stats.

Bob Stoops is is well known for running up the score and keeping starters in. I remember AP had that injury that took him out for the season against Iowa State but he shouldn't been in the game they were up big in the fourth quarter. He is also a Hok so I guess he enjoys beating us.

Two years ago he may have been too merciful. On the final weekend he had TCU take a knee twice in our redzone in the 4th when the game was out of hand instead of running up the score. TCU didn't make the playoffs.

Patterson is a class act, but if we were baylor he would probably try to put up 70.
