Dan Dakich will make your ears bleed.. No matter what game he does, he'll tie everything back into the Big 10 and also his son. He'll also call every single starter for every Big 10 team "a potential All Big 10 player". Tonight will be atrocious and I am very happy I'll be in attendance.
On of the reasons it made it easy for me to decide to go. Paying money not to listen to Dan is money well spent.

Dan Dakich will tell you all about how he could be and was a better coach than any coach, just ask him (or don't cause he'll tell you anyway). But also do yourself a favor and look at his coaching statistics lol. Guy's a dweeb.

It’s hilarious to me how many of them are actually blind to this. They think they’ve dominated us in basketball lately.
I mean I'm not throwing their entire fanbase under the bus, but the ones that are posting over there right now have no common sense on the state of their basketball program compared to ours, nor the ability to fully comprehend how long it's been since we've lost to them at Hilton..

No, no we don't. You're just making stuff up by saying that.
He's actually not.. He also didn't say every Hawkeye fan is saying it, but many are. I've seen Hawkeye fans say they're going to dominate Iowa State. I've seen a couple of fans say they can't see a way they lose this game.

It's sort of a generalization due to the fact that most fans who do not think Iowa is going to win / not as confident are keeping their thoughts to themselves.

He claimed that Iowa fans think we've dominated ISU in basketball lately which is just demonstrably untrue. I post on several Hawkeye websites and I haven't seen anyone claim that we've dominated ISU. That would be foolish because we clearly haven't, especially at Hilton.

I don't think it's the literalness of saying Iowa has dominated, rather the way some Iowa fans speak when talking about Iowa State vs. Iowa basketball. You seem to be someone that understands things and isn't illogical about the series itself.

It's on both sides and every where else in the country. Lol there were Iowa State fans saying we were going to destroy Iowa this year in football.. Well what the heck were they basing that off of? The reasonable fans would've said "I think Iowa State is going to win by a realistic margin". Those types of fans usually don't understand sports that well, rather rely on pure fandom to get them through the season. They're also the types of fans that throw their team under the bus quickly when things turn south.

Going to have to defend well and hit a few 3's. Should be enough to get a win in Hilton. Also, avoid the human battering ram Cordell Pemsl. He could really hurt someone. Hopefully he misses the bus.

Going back to my co-worker, childlike is a good description. Most of the office here is like that. They think Iowa bball is really good every year - until they start getting beat, and then they just tune out. It happens every year, but the earliest was a couple years ago when they got smoked by 3 nobodies at some preseason tournament.

Hilton needs to be really loud tonight. Like the night in the 80s when Jeff Grayer couldn't even hear his name announced during starting line-ups.

The 2017-2018 team lost to Louisiana and South Dakota State before beating UAB in the consolation game. That was the same year we lost to UW-Milwaukee at home but ended up beating Iowa in Hilton 84-78.

I may lead a sheltered life but my relatives and friends that are Iowa fans are cautiously optimistic but don’t think they’ll win. They’re concerned (and should be) about the Hilton Magic factor. I’m hoping that’s the deciding factor. Getting Garza in foul trouble will help a bit, too.
