Sad it got exposed on this stage but we looked like a true freshman and a bunch of mid major transfers. We’ve had two blue collar rosters and leaned on defense based on what we had. Wasn’t perfect but overachieved considering the roster. If TJs recruiting continues and evolves his strategy around better individual talent, we will be fine.

In the end ISU just didn't have very many guys that can make a shot. There guys that could make shots was pretty well Gabe and Holmes. The loss of Williams, Grill, and not getting Green to transfer really made the team really short on guards. Eli King was sort of a disappointment, although you can't expect a lot from a freshman. It was so easy to defend ISU when it was down to just guarding Gabe. Jaz was just plain worthless after he came back from his injury, which didn't help.

Stat of the game: It took ISU until less than 5 minutes left in the game to tie the 30 points Pitt had at halftime.

Every single person today sucked. I'll take Watson, Ward, and Tre back. They showed some flash. Lispey as well, but for the next 239 days he works on shooting drills and ball handling exclusively. Everyone else can hit the road.

Need as many shooters as you can get next year. Hopefully guys who can create shots for themselves as well. If all we are is scrappy and old again next year then we're ******.

Worst experience I have had watching an Iowa state basketball game. Thinking we had a chance and doing that crap
Oh, Hampton was worse. Alabama-Birmingham was worse. For me the UCLA loss where Tyus Edney (maybe) dribbled the length of the court was a worse loss for me personally.

This was sad, but we knew it could happen. We were NOT supposed to lose to Hampton and that was a far worse gut punch.

Apparently booting off the best shooter on the team 2 weeks before end of season didn't have end well

This team had some really big moments and big wins, out of sheer force of will. I wish we had more time with Jaz, Jaren and Shoon, and I wish they had gone out on a higher note. Defense, toughness and effort was there, just like almost every other game. This team was just really limited on the other end, and it all showed today.

The future is really, really bright. I think the coming teams will still be solid defensively, but more balanced with offensive talent and scoring threats.

Remember when we were on track to be a 2 seed earlier in the year? Silver lining: I'm happy we did a bit of imploding as the conference season progressed so we could drop this turd as a 6 seed instead of another 2 vs 15 seed upset.

The horrid starts we have to games, second halves and OTs really need to be corrected.

Introduce a new warmup/whatever and I knew we were ******* toast. We had an okay year, but my god I am ready for our offense to not be a dog turd all the time.

Jaren Holmes, appreciate the effort, but he was awful today. Shoon, same same but different. They were a stop gap and that is all.

Lipsey needs to put in work this off-season because having defenses sag off him was our detriment, along with a number of other factors.

Not as horrifying as Fred's last game in 2015, seems to me.

Invited to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive year, the #3 seed Cyclones were upset by #14 seed UAB, 60–59, in the first round.

Look at it this way...after today's game, we may not lose any underclassmen remaining to the NIL. There's that.
