Hello, long-time lurker, new poster, just wanted to add my 2 cents. I actually like ISU's draw reasonably well, Notre Dame's bigs do not match up well AT ALL on Niang and Ejim imo, and if we could win the first the game with OSU would probably be a race to 60. Exciting, go Clones!

Here nor there
Tough draw. ND is just about the worst type of team we could play imo. I would trade places with any of the other 10 seeds. Hell, if we switched with Colorado we would have a good shot at the Elite Eight.

We open as a 1 point favorite. This is the exact opposite as last year. No one was picking us to beat UConn, this year we are the hot upset special.

Haven't read the whole thread but guessing I am the only one around here that has an ISU undergrad degree and a Notre Dame graduate degree.

I have watched parts of about 5 ND games this year, although the 5OT game over Louisville felt like two games. Best way I can describe them is blue collar. Good on boards, good defense. Similarity with Iowa State is their coach squeezes every bit of ability out of his players. I think we match up well against them. I guess another similarity is Cooley is always in foul trouble much like Ejim and Niang. I hope Clyburn plays well, I think he will be a tough matchup for them. Grant is very good, he scored a ton of points in the last 47 seconds to get them to OT against Louisville.

Felt ND should have gotten a 6, ISU should have gotten a 9. Really bummed about the matchup as one of them will obviously lose. Glad we avoided the 8-9 game. Wish it wasn't in Dayton as that is pretty close to South Bend and of course Ohio State. I think they are the weakest 2 seed, but its their backyard.

I will be rooting for Iowa State. Thought they might meet when I was at ND and Digger was still the coach. Mentioned it to him and he said your heart is always with your undergrad school, which I agreed with. I think both schools have the perfect coaches to be running their basketball programs.

Thing to think about... Ohio St. Fans hate ND.... Perhaps their crowd will be pulling for ISU in Dayton. Problem for them though is that we would be a more dangerous squad to face in the next round.

This is quite true. Notre Dame wouldn't play them for a long time in football after some bigotry out of them about Catholics. Michigan also had some very ugly stuff. Some of the reasons Notre Dame will never join Big 10 IMO.

Uhh, based on watching all 7 seeds play this year, ND has had much bigger wins than any of the other three. Creighton and Doug McD would have been the easiest 7th seed of the bunch. Creighton's schedule has made them look much tougher than they are.

McDoormat lost to St. Mary's and they got stuck with the play-in.

Notre Dame just beat Marquette in the Big East tourney and Marquette still gets a three seed? I really think 7 is a low seed for them, even though I think we match up fairly well against them.

I would have prefered a creighton matchup, but its in Dayton so at least Im only a 3 hour drive away. Oh and Notre Dame will completely overlook us and start planning for OSU, who hate each other.
