GD I hate these type of losses. At some point would it be too much to ask just to have a season where **** goes our way? Save me the you make your own luck bs. I have watched too many other programs have the ball bounce their way on the road to a magical season.

Saving our good fortune for the Big 12 tournament and March Madness?

I don't think we did anything wrong, just didn't have the home-court advantage, and also didn't have some shots fall while they had a lucky one fall in the last seconds. It tears your heart out, but what can you say. We also had a stretch where they were getting easy inside shots that our interior defense seemed to break down. I know that we can throw blame, but what good would that do? Cyclones played a great ballgame.

I can just hear you if we foul with 25 seconds to go, they hit the free throws, we miss, and they win the game. That is just not smart, I don't think I have ever seen that work, let alone anyone try it.

Stanford ladies Bball did it 2 yrs ago to be Uconn.. BOOM .. just to name 1

really.. explain why

How about this. Almost every team in the country shoots better from the FT line then they do from the field closely guarded. You are giving the advantage to the other team who simply has to make one of two for the lead. Then you have to make a basket. Your odds of losing just went way up. You are assuming that they were going to score. That was very much in doubt. After all, they had a 5 second violation on that possession that just wasn't called but should have been because it was 7 seconds or more.

I'm really trying to be nice here, but there is a reason you never see someone intentionally foul in that situation in a tie game. This is nothing like the debate of to foul or not when up by 3.

What is this "new school" idea of handing out wins? Dumbest idea I've heard in a while.

How is it handing them the win, when you give yourself the ball with a chance to tie the game (or win if they don't make both FT) with more than 2.5 left on the clock?

We were in foul trouble and no backups on the bench that we trust for defense.

Why not play D, rebound their missed FG attempt, & then take the ball down in a tie game w/ a chance to win?

This is just the way life is for ISU. The chances of OSU making a tough, closely contested shot to take the lead were 100%. The chances of them making both free throws had we fouled were 100%. Had they needed another 60 footer or banked in 3 pointer at some point, I would put the chances of them making it at 100%.

We just don't win these games on the road.

You clearly know everything about basketball (if it were 1975 still) so not worth talking to you anymore..

This.

Tonight's game was an absolute carbon copy of last season's game in Stillwater and very similar to the year before. Whenever we play a good team on the road and we are shooting lights out, IT'S ******* IMPOSSIBLE for them to have an off night shooting on the same night.

How many times in the past 3 years have we played fantastic on offense (on the road) only to have the home team make every ******* contested shot they throw up. I seriously want to puke all over the place.

Same. It was blatantly obvious when Smart his that stupid shot at half and the nail in the coffin was that boneheaded play by Ejim.

I didn't say it at the time, lest I jinx us, but I couldn't help thinking that the garbage basket at the end of the first half would be the margin of victory.

In sports, one never wants to put officials in a position to influence the outcome of the game. We had a chance to do that, but 17 turnovers really hurt. Having said this, in a close game, officials can influence the outcome - and we saw that tonight.

On the other hand, we shot 54% overall and 54% from the three. That is bloody impressive.

We got 16 points from the bench; they got 17 - but all from one player.

Ejim had another great night rebounding but his scoring remains down. Hope he can turn that around soon. He's still a force and it is impressive to watch him.

Worst part of the game to me? Refs were bad but having the same old same olds crawl out from under their rocks and again try to tell us that Fred should have done this or Fred should do that, or Fred lost us the game. What a crock!!!!!!!!!! The best one was that at the end of the season, Fred needs to reassess what he is doing..... Do you honestly believe that he doesn't do this AFTER EVERY GAME - WIN OR LOSE? We were picked by the coaches to finish third last in the conference; you don't think overachieving relative to the coaches poll has something to do with outrcoach?

So, is this what you're suggesting w/ this "old school" & "new school" talk?

Old school - play D, forcing them to take a contested shot

New school - foul, giving them FREE throws to take the lead
