still has to work on the fouling, but Niang had one of his best defensive games. 4 steals and 3 blocks I think? Some of them really turned the tide of the game for us.

Goddammit, Hogue is a freaking monster. In the last two games he is averaging 18 and 15. He is quickly becoming my favorite player.

Through 7 games, he's averaging 12.7 and 10.4. That's awesome.

He should be the Big 12 player of the week. Man has been an animal. Came up huge tonight. Also, Matt T played 42 minutes tonight. He does the small things even when he isn't hitting the 3. Kid is going to be really good.

This right here. CFH even recognizes his own shortcomings and tries to fix them. I hope Doc Sadler knows how much we as Cyclone fans appreciate him. I understand the urge to be the HC somewhere again, but man I wish he would put down roots in Ames and build something special.

What is funny is Bill Self put him in as Dir of Operations as Nebby was paying part of his salary and probably made it easier for us to hire him away from within conference. Doc might have ended up in a different spot if Bill had not put him on his team.

I'd just like to point out that Matt Thomas played a game high 42 minutes without a turnover.

Naz, Monte and Matt didn't score well this game (a combined 4-16), but they combined for 5 assist, 3 steals, 6 rebounds and zero turnovers.

Yep, and they get back to the friendly confines of Hilton this Friday.

That was a crazy freaking game. I watched it with a buddy at Benchwarmers and there was an obnoxious Purple Kitty fan who had to yell for every made shot in the first half. It was particularly annoying because he was pretty much the only one yelling like that for UNI and the ISU fans were pretty quiet.

For some reason he left at half. Lucky for him because he would not have enjoyed the rest of the game.

Just watched the highlights. Couple things.

Didn't realize Niang's block was out on the perimeter, very impressive, and the baseball pass was even more impressive!!

I was calling for the foul when up 3, but after watching, that was good defence. Just terrible luck.

Also Kane's half-court shot was some what close, but kinda glad it didn't go down. I'm glad we got the chance to pecker slap them in the OT. That was more how the entire game should have been.
