This fanbase deserves so much better. This will be 4 out of the last five years now we either finished dead last or near the bottom. Then in two of those years we get witness epic collapses .
I dont see this getting any better either. The recruits he's bringing in next year aren't going to win many Big 12 games and it appears just like with Prohm TJ is always going to be thr 7th or 8th best coach in this conference.
I was all in on the TJ hire but he jsut got his *** handed to him this week by 2 guys who have maybe their worst teams in years at West Virginia and K-State.

Grill was ZERO FOR NINE...from three point range...
I have to think that TJ will improve with his coaching as time goes on. He has done a great job up to this point. The last couple of weeks games give us all pause, sure.

But this team does not have many if any shooters. Going 0 for 9 for example is not on TJ, when many if not most of these shots were good looks.

Yes TJ needs to evolve and improve. TJ on the other hand doesn't count on this type of shooting performance. From the whole team by and large. If it is something TJ is doing to the team in terms of over-conditioning, then he will have to adjust. If I was dog tired I could probably hit 2-3 of those 3 pointers.

Lack of shooting skill and not throwing the ball to the other team is necessary BB skill. Basketball 101. We need to get better players with better skill. TJ needs to do better with what he has also. The 2nd half today was not good.

Why does our fanbase deserve better than any other fanbase? Before you say we show up at games, maybe realize what's more important is that we stop being so cheap and give some real money to the AD like all the other schools are able to do with their donors. We don't "deserve" anything any more than any other school in this conference. In fact, there is an argument that we deserve less because we invest the least amount as a fanbase into the AD.

At least we won’t have to play the 1 or 2 seeds in KC since we will probably be the 9

Well, unless they can find a way out of this funk my bubble has been burst. Had them finishing in the top half of the league and a single digit seed in the tourney. I'll put down my Mr. Microphone now and let the rest of the season play out.

Before you say we show up at games,
Yep, pretty much, I'm sick of the Texas and Oklahoma schools constantly getting players to play in a morgue with 3,000 people there. Then we sellout because people actually care about basketball here and these are the results we get e every year.

If anyone was surprised by this loss today….. you haven’t been paying attention…. we aren’t a good basketball team….. so that’s on you.
...

Well, I think I've been paying attention and have still continued to be optimistic. Everything in the conference season has gone pretty much as I expected, except the TCU loss at home. Until today. The troubling nature of recent losses (KU at home, UT and WVU on the road) I obviously minimized. It's pretty clear now that this team just hasn't improved as much as the competition and couldn't maintain the level of intensity they played with earlier. I'm disappointed and feel bad for the team, because I believe they really want to be good and are good teammates. I'm sure this hurts them far worse than it hurts me.

Maybe ISU will get ahead just before time expires and celebrate instead of defending and lose that way.

If you can't win the games, win the average attendance. Attendance smack is fun!

It really feels like this is the case. If so, that’s maybe fine this year.

But the lack of ability to make the next adjustment when the other team does, is concerning. If you watched any South Dakota state games, or UNLV games, this isn’t a recent phenomenon
No one is asking TJ not to lose any games, but getting beat in every second half recently and so far being beaten badly in each matchup against a team they've already played is concerning. Teams are clearly adjusting and it's a trend that there are not counterpunches prepared regardless if people want to believe it.

Weird season. These guys don't have the experience with each other to know how to win under duress

So the team with the #9 defense gets outscored by 18 points in the 2nd half against the 95th rated offense in the country. I wonder what the odds of that happening were?

I guess Enaruna wasn't the issue?

If it's not an injury it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Seemed like a strength early was players knowing their roles and where they stood and I'd wonder if that's deteriorated a bit.
