We should beat Nebby...in the first half.Still think we can win against Nebraska or only win left
ISU came out great to start the game. However, like every game this season, the second half we look like a completely different team. So yes, Mcdermott will get praise for the first half, but scorn for the second half.Wait a minute. The last few weeks this board was pinning the lack of effort on McDermott. Now its not the coach who does it? If you are going to kill McDermott for them playing lathargic earlier, you can't say that he had nothing to do with today's great effort.
As much as I liked our effort today as well, it only gets you so far.
Effort and Hustle are aspects of the game you don't coach. You ask your players to give their all to the school, fans, team, etc.
We are losing because of the things you do coach.
All I got to say
Better effort today, but still so frustrating.
GMac just does not fire this team up to start 2nd halves, and he is always out-coached at the start of 2nd halves. The other coach seems to make adjustments if he is ahead or behind, so why not GMac? Team just always seems to come out flat. Time to change the routine some how.
Rebounding was better.....but they still need to learn to grab the damn thing, and not tip it around like it is a volleyball. They all do it........just watch. I hope they are not being coached to do that for some odd reason.
At least the last few games they have started making free throws. That is encouraging if they can keep it up. KSU fouls a lot, and unfortunately today, ISU fell into the trap of fouling them too. The opposing team should never out-score the home team at the free throw line. Can't win that way.
DG cannot play defense. At all. At least not against the opposing teams PG. He just can't keep up with the quickness of the other guards. Too slow to play help defense and get back to cover his man, so Clemente scored double his average today, and shot 75% from 3 point range.
Like I have said before, ISU does not guard the 3 point shot well at all...and that was the case today especially with Clemente.
If the 2nd half had started better, ISU could have been in this game. Can't let a team get a 17-4 run on you to start the half. Just can't happen.
Mac had NOTHING to do with this loss. This was one of the best games I've seen our team play all year.
Just couldn't get it done from behind the arc, missed lay-ups, and costly turnovers again.
Really. I call BS on that. Turnovers, bad decisions, and missed wide open shots cost us that game.
Tell us why you think we lost because of coaching?
I would think he could have done a slightly better job getting this team to come out a little more fired up to start the second half.

Like your breakdown. The one comment I want to make is about rebounding. That is actually the way K-State rebounds and why they get so many Offensive boards. They are trying to poke it out of the guys hands that are in position and come up with loose ball.
What makes a loss in a loosing season even more miserable?
Dress your players and fans up in pink so that they look even more like pushovers.
Did they have to go with the pink tennis shoes? How fru fru.

You coach fundamentals....turnovers, bad decsions, etc are wiped out when a team is fundamentally sound.
