I would rather Colvin and DG both start rather than one or the other. DG is our best penetration option in the half court besides Gilstrap. I would like to see what he can do cutting off screens and moving without the ball to get looks. When you talk about managing games what other stat would you look at besides A/T for a PG? Hes not shooting too badly, he is at 44%. He's also shooting 40% from 3. He also handles the ball better than anyone on the team.

How many assists of his come after he dribbles around for 20 to 25 seconds and then throws a pass for someone to take a desperation three? If they make it he gets an assist and if they miss no turnover. When does he ever make a clutch shot? Most his points come when the game is already decided, ie. today.

Colvin is by far the best penetration option we have. He does make mistakes but they are usually aggressive mistakes. He needs time to continue to develope. Give him three years of starting experience and he will be leaps and bounds a head of where DG is today.

That has not been seen yet in the half court. That has nothing to do with anything in reality. Of course he will be. He should be considering he started way ahead of him when he got here. He is not a better point guard to run a team right now. He is not mature enough in a basketball sense to do it. Sure he can make some great plays and passes the ball as well as anyone in transition, but in the half court he isn't there. Maybe he will be next year, I hope he is. I hope we have 5 viable options to run the 1 and 2. I actually think we will. I am just saying right now Colvin cannot run the team full time in the half court.

Ya, you're right, that's what we should do. Great idea.

Enginerd , yes, I have emailed Frank Martin and the KSU AD about his profanity. I do not approve of his language. Basketball games should be a family venue and Martin certainly puts a crimp on taking my wife and grandchildren to games.

Did you ever go to a game when Mr.Orr was coaching?

Just got back from the game.

I have to make a point about what I think was one of the best hustle plays of the season, the put-back by Gilstrap at the end of the first. It was inspiring to see the sheer effort the kid put into scoring that bucket when we needed it. He took a hard spill too.

Overall, I think the team is better than they were earlier in the season, but still not reaching the bar, especially by bigXII standards.

And to address next year, my hope is that with DG at the point as a senior, Colvin as a sophomore and the addition of Pillips, we can see a team that will cause more headaces for opposing teams. Also, not having a clearly defined "star" may help the team chemistry and lead to a more balanced attack. This is my hope.

no sense of urgency on Mac's part with calling timeouts at critical parts of the game to settle the team down. Good effort, but still same old ****, get a new coach please!!! Our team might as well not even go into the locker room at halftime since this coaching staff cannot adjust to anything, why?? Oh and Colvin really needs to start!! Brackins once again had a very nice game and good luck to him in the Pro's I hope he does well and thanks for coming back.
