Obviously this is a huge kick to the nuts, but I'll take my chances with the POY in the best conference in the country, the guy that easily could've also been POY, the all-time NCAA Assist:TO ratio record holder, Beast-mode Hogue, and a cold-blooded big-time shot maker in Long. Edozie has played solid minutes whenever called upon to do so, and will be huge in keeping UNC off the offensive glass. Our offensive margin for error got much smaller, but we still have a great team led by one of the best offensive minds in college basketball. If they stay patient, move the ball and don't settle for too many 3s ISU will be fine. Most teams would completely fold if they lost a player of Niang's caliber, but these guys will not and will beat UNC. This team is just too tough.

NCAA Tournament balls shots:
2012: Getting stuck by Kentucky
2013: Babb's ankle and the missed blocking foul
2014: Georges' foot

Yep, sounds about right.

I actually had a very similar injury playing basketball and fractured my 4 th and 5th metatarsal and I was out about 3 weeks but could have come back sooner

O.K. all you pansies! So we will be without Niang...why lose the faith? We are still alive and I believe we can still go far with this team. Kane, Ejim, Morris, Houge and whoever else CFH decides to go with will keep this going.
I still have Iowa State going to the Final Four and even winning it.
Please for everyone's sake - grow a pair because I am not sure a lot of you may not have any if you constantly think this way.

Go ahead - fire away at my response - I can take it I've got a pair!
thank you, its not the end of the world. we still are a really good basketball team. Other guy just need to step up now have some faith

I guess my question is how you break a metatarsal when you twist your ankle?

Fred said it was a different play. Somebody stepped on his foot(likely Ingram or Hogue). Apparently he only realized it after he landed on Hogue's foot.

Damnit, damnit, damnit damnit. THis is playing out just like Babb last year. I mean at least we have time to mentally prepare for this, but planning can only do so much. Georges is a linchpin to this offense...

We're not done.
This painful chapter just makes the triumphant ending that much sweeter.

Toughest team we've seen around here in a loooooooong time. They'll bring it, rally around their brother, and stick it to Carolina on Sunday.
These guys won't fold their tents and quit. Don't quit on them.

Guys? We still have the Big 12 POY and Newcomer of the year. Definitely a blow, but it's not the end of the world.

Maybe sweet sixteen but we don't beat MSU without Niang. He was a matchup nightmare and always opened up the inside by drawing the big man to the perimeter. I think I saw some stat that like 40% of our offensive possessions go through him. Not the end of the world. Ok whatever.

They figured it out without Georges in overtime down in Stillwater. I know it's a different situation and losing him is a huge blow, but we still have plenty of weapons

Sometimes sarcasm shows immaturity. In this case it show that you are a fool.
What a moron. This post is aimed at the person? who said the foot needed to be amputated. Sorry, but that stuff isn't funny to me...anytime.

Doesn't look like a Final Four run is in the cards now, but if anyone can come up with a creative strategy, it's Fred. It will be interesting to see how he changes our approach.

Oh well, I think about Fran's son and remember it's just a game.
