I'm saying in pretty much every game, there are 2 camps; Negative and Positive. One side is going to be right dependent upon the outcome of whatever game is at hand. The side that ends up being right, gets to be on the high horse until the next time. That is the law of the message board.

There's another camp.

Camp #3:
This poster is supportive of the team and cheers the team on no matter what, however, when the team plays absolutely, horribly, embarrassingly bad, they will question the team and coaching staff as a whole. They will not bash a single player and hope he transfers, but they may question a decision made by the various player in a classy way. (I.E. Why did MT step on the out of bounds line again? Why did Kane turn it over to end the 1st half again?)
They will be happy with a win, but during the course of the game they will question some really lazy basketball. Because every single fan would do the same thing. Never once would people in Camp #3 single out a player and bash him in a classless way. They will however, get on "the team" and question why they are playing so horrible at times.


I am in Camp #3.

Looked at the halftime score on my POS work blackberry. Oh no. Kept it active on the score while continuing driving. Couldn't stop looking during the comeback. It locked up with the 21 or so seconds left and down by three. Went to the Cyclone fanatic since espn was not working right. Saw all the posts about average team, we won't win another game. I thought they lost. Was ready to delete the game on the DVR once I got home. Got home and one last look at cyclone fanatic to read the meltdown. They won!! YES!!!!!.

This person doesn't post an entire thought in the game thread until the final whistle has blown. During an up and down game, you just know that person is cussing up a storm and throwing things at the TV when ISU is down and playing bad. This person also contemplates suicide and probably turns the channel for a few minutes. After they talk themselves back from the ledge and turn back to the game, if ISU is still losing they will change the channel again. If ISU is winning, they will begin to cheer again. Once the game is over and if ISU lost, they will not post a single thing. If ISU had won the game and made a nice comeback in the process, they will now rip on everybody who was freaking out earlier in the game thread. Saying things like "Told you so!" "I never doubted this team once!" "some of your posters who gave up on the team should be embarrassed!" etc.

This is the high horse poster. This is the fan I am calling out.

Be mad about how they're playing. Complain about a poor effort and play.

But don't be asshats calling out kids personally, Fred is a grown man. Matt is an 18 or 19 year old kid finding his way as a college basketball player.

I get frustrated too. But there is no excuse for these supposed fans to go so low.

Sorry. It wasn't necessarily directed at what you've posted trying to rationalize why it's cool to negative.

I was only responding to that particular post.

This isn't directed at your stream of consciousness either, but to all the other asshats. before you post, think about how you would feel if you were related to the player you are about to trash.

I'm going to add camp #5.

My son had a basketball tournament. I asked my wife to DVR the game. She says I got it.

I get home in time to probably watch the last few minutes of regulation and OT, but being a nice husband I decide to do some laundry and pick up the house until she gets home with my middle son and we can watch the game together.

I crack a beer sit down about an hour ago. Nothing on the DVR.

Since then I have been reliving the game through the game thread.

Let me just you guys are all depressing.

Also let me know if there are any cyclone an ladies out there that are available and proficient in using a DVR.
