McKay showed some solid tools on offense in the first half. If he spends all summer in the gym working on his footwork and eating, he could be a first team Big 12 guy.

I'm no basketball guru, but if he would just catch the ball and bring it up high quicker, seems like he'll have it all. I already think he is the best forward in the nation in transition end to end. What big guy would you rather have on a fast break or running back on help D? I'd take him over anybody on the blue bloods in those areas.

McKay is great - tons of energy and everything and plays with a lot of heart. Knows how to get rebounds and a really hard worker. However, there's more things he needs to work on to "have it all" - luckily he doesn't need to "have it all."

Back from the game. OMG that was crazy. At halftime I'm starting to think everyone is going to want me banned from doing game day threads. Then the magic arrived. Been going to games regularly for about 15-20 years and never experienced anything like that 22-0 run. That was insane.

Well that's what I mean, we don't need him to shoot the 3 or be point guard, especially when we have Niang already as that kind of big guy. But if he could develop more moves around the rim.

Maybe this is a dumb things fan say, but I wonder if Niang could work on post moves with him or if he already is.

If McKay could gain some weight and work on his post moves, and develop a little 10 foot baseline jumper - He'd be very good...

What happened? I blacked out after Hogue buried the 3 to give us the lead. Did we win?

Solid 18 points in the first half tonight for Iowa State. McKay with 10 points, nobody else with more than 3. Hilton Magic indeed. Not sure why Fred didn't sign Wyatt Lohaus...HUGE MISS

One of my favorite moments from the game tonight was when Naz tried to wipe the blood off of Monte's face before the ref noticed. #BloodBrothers

Things look bleak now, but let's not forget that ISU can score points in bunches. We have a chance at home to come back and steal this one. All we need to do is hit some shots early, get the crowd in this game and we're off.

We can make a comeback fellas.

halftime post winner? I think so!

I don't know why people want McKay to gain weight. McKay has a prototypical body type for basketball, especially in the Big12. If he gains weight, it makes him heavier, heavier things are harder to lift off of the ground.
