I continue to be impressed by Jefferson. It seems like every game he reaches deeper into his bag of tricks. The no-look bounce pass to Heise was sick. Haven't had a dynamic big like this since Niang.
He’s still coming back from surgery/injury in the offseason. His legs aren’t fully underneath him yet.

Can Heise come back next year too?

Answered my own question: he has just one year (this current year) of eligibility, but can apply for a medical redshirt for missing most of the 2022-23 season.

Jackson and Jefferson both can come back next year.

Love Milan but he doesn't scream "NBA-ready" to me right now, although I've not looked at any recent draft board projections.

Rotation next year could look something like:
- Lipsey SR
- Heise SR
- Nojus SO
- Milan JR
- Jackson SR
- Jefferson SR
- Rock SO

Pick up a solid guard and a wing in the portal and I like it!
Isn’t Jackson a Sr?

Cyclones.com describes Jackson as redshirt senior who missed his third year due to an undisclosed medical condition

"comes to Iowa State with two seasons of eligibility remaining"

"The Charlotte big man attended Washington State for three years before transferring to Charlotte. However, he will have two years of eligibility since he redshirted the 2022-23 season due to injuries he suffered in 2021-22."

Something I saw during warmups at the isu game is that Chatfield is a great shooter he made like 5 straight 3’s
Bill Self going to be counting 1,2,3,4 3ptrs and shaking his head at Chatfield this year?

I think Jackson, Jefferson, and Heise will all have a year after this. I thought Heise’s medical red shirt is already confirmed.
Christ that is wild, I really thought they all had 1 year.

Solid win. Didn't come out with the necessary focus, but they turned the switch on in the middle of the first half and did what a top team should do.

I can say without reservation that Nate Heise wouldn't be the 4th best guard on any other team in the country. TJ & staff knocked their portal pickups out of the freaking park.
Nate is a pest on defense. Even being a guard I feel like he'd love the challenge of defending power forwards.

I went to a Timberwolves game around 2003 and vividly remember Kevin Garnett (fantastic player of course but not a threat from three, he averaged 0.1 3PM/game career) out early warming up and draining threes all over the court. I think a lot of these guys even the big guys can shoot the lights out in an open gym.

Chat shot 39% on 1.8 attempts per game two years ago at Seattle, seems he's got a bit of range!

I'm stealing this point from one of the pods last week, but it's good if we don't have/need Tamin as one of our top 1-2 options on offense, his strengths are elsewhere.

His shot lately has been off by a hair, he's close.
