I would just like to point out, that in some conversations I've had regarding these wins, I've come to realize that there are 2-3 important factors in having championship quality teams: Talent, Fundamentals, and the "Never Quit" Attitude. Of course talent plays a part as well, but good fundamentals and the right attitude can help make up the difference in talent. (Which is backed up by recent NCAA tournaments)
Basketball is a game played often enough that you can't expect to play completely perfect games every game and it's why when teams play "complete" games, it's considered one of their best of the Season. However, when you aren't playing perfectly and are making those mistakes a "Never Quit" Attitude can make up for it. As well as the "Never Quit" attitude leads to learning to win.
Reality is, it was OSU at home and we SHOULD have beat them by double digits. However, we didn't, that's because we didn't play well, but we never quit. We kept playing hard and we had players make clutch shots and our "never quit" attitude made up for our lack of hard play in areas. In recent years prior to this, I don't think we had that "never quit" attitude, we saw the attitude in last years team but we just didn't have enough players and were too gased. This year we've seen it at times, we've also seen them hang their heads as well. But finally that "never quit" attitude is paying off, and consequently I personally think we are turning that corner and are "learning to win" too.
I think that we have all the pieces for a championship team, even without a true PG. We just need to get the fundamentals down, play with more intensity and focus, and keep playing with that "never quit" attitude.
So, do I think we have plenty of things to improve on? Yes. Do I think we should have won by more? Yes. Do I think that what happened tonight is good for our team? Definitely. Am I happy we won? Absolutely.
