***Official portal tracker thread***

Ethan Beckman decommits. Bandhauer is the only O-line recruit still committed. The 3 decommits were low 3 star guys with a couple of MAC offers each.
Will be interesting to see where these guys end up. The top half will probably end up at other P4s but the bottom half could be interesting

Portal additions more than likely. Hopefully people don’t freak out a week from now when more of the transfer news starts coming out. It’s all going to be fine.
I'm not going to freak out, but I'm not going to ignore the facts and say it's all going to be fine either. I doubt very much that we replace the players leaving with ones that are anywhere close to being as good.

Yeah I mean I think it's likely it works out at least okay, but I think it would be a mistake to expect us to be able to replace our top 8-10 players 1 for 1. We will definitely take a step back in terms of talent next year, and that's ok I think.

Agree. In waiting game now, but strictly from an elite talent perspective, Konrardy and Neal would be our two biggest losses.

It's tough, but this is going to be the new normal. Every player is a free agent and $1B++ of cash is floating around P4 schools to reward the best and brightest!

IMO in the future it's going to be tough for ISU to keep its best players 4 years. ISU has <$15M to spend on its roster, while others in the P4 have $30M+.

I don't like losing guys like Becht, Brahmer, Bacon, etc. But it's just like they graduated, so next guy up and guys like Moberly, Manske, Burkle, Ebel, Brezina, etc have to step up.

I would guess between the players Rogers bring with him, he will have to hit the portal hard for players. I would bet we will lose quite a bit of the players that were here, maybe not, but they are all sure going to look. Campbell will take the best of what we had coming back for next season. Rogers will also have to spend time keeping all the recruits we had signed. It's going to be interesting to say the least.

Uh, I hate to tell ya, but most of the recruits we signed already have decommitted.

When they're not asking players to release themselves from their commitment.

True but Rogers surely will get some of those kids to stick with ISU. I understand that most will open up the recruiting again, but that does not mean that they are all leaving. Otherwise we are bringing in replacements through the portal. It's not like we are only going to have 60 players on scholarship next season.

There is zero reason for a senior next year to stay here if they can get more money somewhere else.

Bacon and Rocco have to move on if they can get more money elsewhere. They are not NFL guys and it's not like basketball where you can earn overseas. After next year they are into the rest of their lives. They gotta take the money. Stupid not to.

And after Brahmer's injuries the last couple years, there are no guarantees for him either, take the money.

You act like there is only one reason to play football.

Mainly for Brahmer but to some extent the others if they went somewhere else they may not have the role/playing time they do here. Also there is the TEAM thing and playing for each other.

For all the players the amount they would make in one year vs what they could make here is small over what they will make over their lifetime.

Penn State Football has picked up a commitment from three-star safety Bryson Williams. He was released from his signing with Iowa State on December 9.
