LOL.

Well, I threw a shoe through my 11 year old SANYO, so now I get the new flat screen LCD. Whoo-Hoo! (only kidding - the shoe missed. Now I have to patch the wall.)

There were some positives. Our line play, both sides, was much better than I expected. It seemed to me that the problems were in areas where we should be confident. That's either scary, or maybe correctible.

I think most are being too nice. Call it how it is. This is completely unacceptable. For the money paid to the coaches, to the money spent by donors and fans, the product on the field from top to bottom is ridiculous.
The coaching, playing, play calling, fundamentals, game plan, effort for this game was not even junior college caliber.

Please. Call it how it really is. We did not have to win the game. This is not the issue. The truth is there has been too much time and money spent by all involved to allow this type of performance. Disgusting!

This. Really, all I want from ISU football is to execute and not beat ourselves. The wins and losses would take care of itself if this would happen. We are not allowed at the D1 table, never have been never will be. So we have to be extra smart and work harder than everyone else to even step on the field. I honestly don't expect wins, but I do expect to watch well-coached, well-played football. Wasn't even close to that today.

This is 100% correct. But what have we spent all that money on since 2005? We have spent over $4 million to fire coaches -- including the only one who ever won a bowl game and the last one to take us to the NCAA tournament -- and we have replaced them with worse coaches. We have shown pictures of bowled in stadiums and practice facilities attached to Hilton to raise money, and we have built new hot dog stands. This blowout, and the others that will follow all season, have been a long time in the making. And the fault does not lie with the quarterback or with the coaching staff. Our problems are higher up.

Yes, congratulatoins to the Hawks. They certainly deserved to win that one.

6 Turnovers
80 yds of penalties

Those numbers won't win a lot of games.

Defense actually played pretty well. Weak side MUCH improved. I thought Garrin and Lyle were great. Sims is a player.

Forget cannon arm, the #1 qualification to play QB is "makes good decisions".

Looking at this game, someone who did not know us would say our defense is our strength. Ironic, no?

Turning point of the game was the onside kick.

3 yrs without a TD against these guys.

I don't remember seeing a lot of our guys open today.

OK, need to put this behind us and move on. Need to avoid a let-down next week and give it all we have. It will be tough.

Anybody hurt?

I totally agree. Tiller did not set the world on fire with his play but from what I saw I would say he deserves to get at least as much time as Arnaud.

Hey. Just calling it the way it is. After living in Ames for 20 years you come to a point where you just need to be truthful. Wishful thinking and being positive is nice, but it doesn't win football games.

Trust me. Born, raised, and graduated a cyclone and one who gives money to many sports and groups on campus. It is time to call it how it is. This is not acceptable and immediately people spending money for these programs should demand at least basic fundamentals and a some type of execution.

It isn't that we did not win. It is so much uglier than a loss.

I don't think the players would argue.

I don't agree. Our offensive line had no trouble with their very capable front 7. Arnaud and A-Rob ran effectively but probably not often enough. I think we need to be more patient and not try to hit 3 run homers on every play. We need to get better at finding open guys (I was not at the game, so I could not see all receivers, but somebody had to be open somewhere.)

I was very encouraged by the defensive play. We have enough to win 4-6 games if we can eliminate or greatly reduce the errors.

I tend to agree with your sentiment. We are in a big boy conference paying big boy wages...we deserve big boy performance.

Having said that, you have to cut a coach in only his second game a little bit of slack.

I did find it offensive that Rhoads' dad when interviewed on the sidelines was already spouting "if given time" line.

Which one don't we know about yet? McDermott's best year is not as good as Morgan's worst year, and you can't seriously think Chizik was better than McCarney?

First off, McDermott is building something. Lets see how it plays out.

2nd, we needed a boost that Mac wasnt giving us. We hired a highly respected D coordinator who ended fooling EVERYONE. Not sure that was anyones fault but his.

Not so fast, have you seen the other teams in the Big 12 North play...the North is very weak this year.

Two questions for you:

1) What the heck is McDermott "building"?

2) Why are you not at the game today if you live in Sioux City?

Again. I'm not saying Rhoads is not the guy. I'm saying we call this like it is and hold all involved accountable immediately. This "give me time", and we need to do this and do that cyclone mantra excuse garbage has to go. We spend money. We demand certain things. The problem with cyclone country is that they don't demand anything better than flashes of some day being good. Enough of this.

If you are on the message board you call this game out and say this is garbage. You can't throw into double and triple coverage all day and be a big 12 QB.

If you are in the newpaper, tv, etc. call the spade the spade.

Unnacceptable. Clean it up now. no excuses.

What about the guy that got fooled enough to bring him here, gave him several million dollars, gave him a contract extension after a 5-19 record, and is still paying more than $500k/year to his former assistants? I think that guy deserves some blame. Does he have no responsibility for his actions and their results?

He fooled us by the fact that he said he would stay here. He was making adjustements to his staff which showed like he was making ammends, then bailed.
