I'm thinking ISU wins this one 28-20. Nothing like a bad team to bring out the best in a quarterback and I think Coach Rhoads will have the team fired up and being bowl eligible after beating Kansas is enough of an incentive for the coaches, team and fans to all be ready for the win.

Steele Jantz: 16-38 115 yds 0 TDs 3 INTs 1 Fumble Lost..... but he plays solid and everyone still loves him and it will be the WRs and OLs fault.

another game with not a lot of offensive production; and our D is responsible for at least one score.

Wow you people are crazy. ISU wins this one. This is a Rhoads type game to win. Everyone is down after a couple of losses. Fans are turning to bball season. Rhoads makes a statement and we get to 6.

I said this the week leading up to 11-13-10. I thought there was no way we'd lose to a team that bad.

Not saying that you are wrong at all, could happen. I remember thinking the same thing at that time. IMHO that was probably the last game that Rhoads lost to a team that wasnt better.

Rhoads has improved the program enough now that ISU wins the ones it should, and we should win this one. Vegas has us as the favorite.

I may be wrong but wasn't that coming off of a heart breaker loss for us? Seems like that set up perfectly for a trap game more than this game.

Following the Nebraska OT loss when we went for 2 and didnt make it.

They had just fired Hawkins that week as well.

Either way- That was the last "bad" loss that I can remember meaning that we should have won

Okay guys - i will try to quantify why i think this will be an ISU beat down...and i will use statistics to embellish my hopes....i'm a numbers guys so i'm gonna really evaluate why why why....

In the last four games, KU has been beaten in OT by Ttech, killed by Baylor, Close one to Texas, and killed by Oklahoma....

In those four games, they've rushed for 413, 272, 234, 185....Now which team of those four is ranked above ISU in rushing defense....

NONE....Currently isu is 49th in the nation in rushing defense giving up 149 a game. Now, obviously we have to play our game because Tech is right behind us in rush defense and they gave up 413 yards. But, i truly believe we would beat Tech 3-5 times we played them, their defense was playing very well when we played them and have fallen out badly. Our defense will be relied upon, but, for our hopes of a bowl, we would be winless without our defense!

Of the two teams, when we've played a bad defense we have looked really good! Where we have stumbled is when we've faced a good to very good defense we have stumbled.

KU has a truly horrible defense - the proof is in the pudding....

KU ISU
Rush Defense
KU 88 - ISU 49

Pass Eff Def
KU 99 - ISU 58

Def Scoring
KU 92 - ISU 34

Punting
KU 96 - ISU 9

Pass Def
KU 106 - ISU 115

Sacks
KU 117 - ISU 95

Sacks allowed
KU 93 - ISU 29

The biggest number that sticks out to me is passing defense....we are 115 and they are 106....in they're last four games they have passed for 29 yds, 81 yds, 39 yds, and 111 yds....our defensive strength especially with Knott out is against the run...with Knott in we was better against both...but not as big of a drop off in the run defense as the passing defense....knott simply had unquestioned instincts for playing space....However in this game, their qb has been horrible all season at passing the ball...thats not a coincidence....

Everyone is pointing to the Tech game and saying look how good they're playing....
Tech is ranked 62 for points given up per game....when they score they score quickly....ISU is methodical....small chunks, takes time off the clock....

All this tells me that our defense will be pumped to play this team...they see this as an opportunity that our offense will get on track against a very poor defense....Defensively i truly believe that Burnham will have them in a great scheme and ready to play their space and let the qb beat us.....that won't happen - he's shown he's not that player....ISU's able to keep their running game in check (199 yds) and we win easily. Defensive stars - Klein 15 tackles and Maggitt 2 sacks as a unit they will get 5 sacks. I just cannot see this team, if they can remove one dimension of the game, this team is too good, they will shut KU down.

Offensively - i think we will be running the short controlled passing game and the quick throws and easy reads will get Jantz into a comfort zone. I have two offensive game balls Brun and Young. I think young has a monster game 135 and 2 tds. And i think mr burn will be released down the middle a lot to exploit the LB that will be up to stop the running game. Brun goes for 80 and 1.

This is my first prediction of the season....

One last mention, if this game is tight, which would be surprising, the differences in the punting game could be huge in field position control, further controlling that play book.
