can we bring back the late 90's early 2000's o-line and pound the football again please. At least the defense would have a real chance to keep us in the games instead of being on the field for what seems like forever. And we were pretty terrible in the late 90's but we could run the ball...

As someone else said above... if JB could just throw a catchable pass to wide open guys 10 yards away, our offense would work. Mess called some good plays... when the QB CAN'T make very simple throws, what's he supposed to do.

JB is his own worst enemy. Make a few basic throws and the offense will work. That's the bottom line.

Barnett simply doesn't have the arm strength to make confident accurate throws. Having to throw on the run all the time due to the issues on the line makes it even worse and not nearly as effective as a runner which I attribute to hicks and osemelee graduating.

Agree completely. JB is capable of throwing a decent ball under ideal pocket circumstances, but doesn't have the arm strength to compensate if he doesn't have the time to follow through with his throws and he has horrible accuracy when he tries throwing while on the move or rolling out.

This sounds like an Iowa Hawkeye forum. The best QB is always on the bench. Get real.
To me Richardson has more potential than Jantz and Barnett combined.... I wish this year ok would not have come down to this but with the lack of productivity at this position, this needs to happen.

Holy cats pajamas, Batman!

1) ISU is 4-3. Baylor at home + Kansas = good shot at bowl game.
2) ISU is still playing for a bowl game (in case you didn't understand piont 1). You don't "play for the future" until the present is toast. We're not Kansas.
3) We're 4-3. It's not like our offense hasn't been good enough for 4 wins. I think Barnett against a poor defense (Baylor) will allow the run game to work, and thus the whole offense. Enough for a win, at least. For that matter, I think Steele would be able to beat Baylor.
4) Our 2nd best opportunity left for a win, you don't give a QB that hasn't been getting many (hasn't been getting any?) practice reps their very first start.

For my money -- I think Steele gives us a better chance in general. However, Barnett may give us a better shot against a poor D line (because the zone read/run game will be there). Steele may give us a better shot against a good D line (where the zone read/run game is poor, and QB scrambling/throwing will be key). I would have liked Steele to come in earlier against OkState.
