Yeah tonight can be a dangerous place. I just try to avoid the Bud Tent tonight.

Why that's where all the action is at!

Went to the Bud tent a couple years ago with my cousin who was getting ready to head out to Afghanistan was trying to hook him up with some strange before he left. Some lady tried to fight me b/c I was trying to set him up with a girl who was getting married the next day.

Only been once. And that time I went with a buddy to watch someone in the talent competition.

She turned out to be a total *****

I use to spend every state fair at the youth inn. Had my first kiss from a girl from pella outside an Alabama concert that I met wandering through the campground. Had my 2nd kiss in a stock trailer that was on display, met her at the youth inn. Got my first real action inside the livestock pavilion (in before animal love jokes). First long term g/f (6yrs) was met while fitting calves at the cattle barn. Started dating a girl I worked with after running in to her at stockmans.

I think I should make the drive to the fair this year.

Also as I type this, im watching the little league world series and just saw someone holding up a sign that said Stevie #27 and I got sad :(

Mrs. Velo likes to go to both the Minnesota State Fair and the Iowa State Fair every year. After several years of this I told her one is enough for me last year so she went to the Iowa State Fair with one of her friends and they took all of the kids. I think I got out of it, hopefully for good.

Minnesota State Fair is definitely for your urbanites. The crowds are ridiculous. They drag around 1.7-1.8 million people through there every year. Iowa's record is right aroung 1 million.

I love the fair. I absolutely live for it. Got a camping spot after a 7 yr wait (which makes it better). I prefer to go sown early during the week, take a break, and head down for some night life. The food, activities, the displays, the concerts.... I love them all.

The only concert I've ever attended at the state fair was in the car waiting for my kids. I don't remember who it was, but I was struck by how good the sound was just sitting in the van in the parking lot far behind the stage.

Not an Iowa native, so only made it down a couple times during college.

Worked the IMAC booth one year (the I milked a cow booth- go check it out if you are going to the fair!)

By far the most common question that we got from grown adults was "is this a boy cow or girl cow?

................what exactly do you think we're having you and all these little kids do here?

oh, since this is a confessions thread, I confess that that was the day I silently mocked a whole lot of people for being complete morons.
