I’m guessing all of the espn pundits picking us to win the Big 12 have jumped off the bandwagon by now. It was good while it lasted

K-State catching Baylor without Mason. Really starting to shape up for the purple kitties.
And without Clark.

KSU is in a great spot. It helps them that when they pissed themselves it was out of conference.

What a let down of a game. Dixon did a great job of exploiting things we’ve been vulnerable to. We also let our poor shooting impact our defense imo, which is uncharacteristic of this team.

Just a really bad performance. Everything is still on the table, though, so let’s see how we respond. The talent is there.

The team didn’t play with any energy on the defensive end. I was critical for not pressuring the ball out of their guards hands sooner but honestly if your guards can stop penetration until they are 3 feet from the basket then even Coach K is going to have a difficult time drawing up a good defensive game plan. This one is on Nick and Wigginton. They need to be better on the defensive end.

The amount of rationalizing in this thread is disheartening. TCU was desperate, we were due for a bad game, still have an opportunity in March, and on and on.

We are the team that should be playing desperate. We had everything in front of us on a platter, but not much margin for error. A win today as a double digit favorite at home keeps you in the drivers seat for the league title, a 1 seed in the B12 tourney, and possibly the most favorable NCAA placement in school history. How a team with that much on the line can come out that flat is impossible to comprehend.

This is where I think we are lacking in the coaching department. This team just lacks the consistency and toughness required to really take that step up to the next level. Every time we really seem to pick up momentum we get full of ourselves and face plant. And this isn't just a Prohm critique, because I think Fred struggled in this regard as well. This is how KU has managed to win 14 straight, they play well as the favorite and they bring the intensity every night.

Well, at least ISU isn't West Virginia. Yikes.

Does he get credit for the 18 wins as well or no?
Well...CSP did say to put all the pressure on him about a week or so ago. Let the players play free from pressure and have fun. So, yeah...he is paid quite well for winning. But it's also Prohm himself that wants the pressure put on him...losing I'm sure causes pressure.

We are not a great 3 point shooting team. It will probably be our downfall in the NCAA tournament at some point.

Just got home and watched the game on recording.

WTF was that anyway? Holy crap. Hope we got it out of our system.

I need beer.

Out

It was just a comedy of errors. When we got a stop we didn't get the rebound. When we had the ball we turned it over.

I'm not at all saying we still have a chance to win the conference, but in most all of the 15 years Kansas won the Big 12, they had at least one really ****** loss. They flushed and get better. I hope we do the same thing.

I am well on the way to making sure I don't remember any of this tomorrow.

Likely needed to get Baylor, KSU, or both since ISU still has to play those teams again and will likely lose at Tx, WV, or both. Tech at home too.

The remaining schedule is going to be tricky for this group.

Before today everyone was saying we'd go undefeated. Things don't turn that quickly. The remaining schedule was always going to be tricky. Today didn't change that. If we had won it wouldn't have changed that. Things are never as good as they seem and never as bad. You need to repeat this to yourself often.

Like, me, myself or just fans in general?

I don't know if things are good or bad. Any win is good. Today's loss was weird.

ISU's got a decent team that hopefully makes the tourney and wins a game or two.
