Go get seven on this drive and I couldn't have asked for a better start.
It's like mental muscle memory. My nerves go into autopilot then I have to tell myself oh this is gonna be ok.
I did not know Anthony Johnson has never intercepted a pass. How the hell don't you accidentally get one making that many starts?
First pass, yes, absolutely, the pressure though after escaping he could have in theory settled in and thrown.
3rd down throw there was zero pressure.
An over throw on a scramble? I can live with that.
Throwing the ball in the one place the defender has the chance to break it up without PI in the endzone on 3rd down to a massively larger TE? That one was a bad throw. The second down one - meh. Could have been better but I could care less about that one. But we have to make a better throw on 3rd
The second one was covered, the first Purdy was running for his life. Just needed to take a second on that one because Kolar was wide open.
In general ISU doesn't seem to have a lot of bad passes thrown right to them like the TOE.
All I’m saying is that almost all our games come down to one or two plays ….. you HAVE to convert.
he was covered, yes. But when you have a TE, you need to lead him and let him box out the defender. Kolar's been covered plenty of times and made a covered catch. The ball needs to be in front of him- throw it at the middle of the goal post and say
"go get it big fella"
not at his helmet to back shoulder as he's running into the middle of the endzone
