I enjoyed this movie. I still think The Dark Knight is the best of the three, but The Dark Knight Rises comes in second. This movie is HUGE in everything; characters, events, sets, etc... There were some plot holes and there were areas I wish could have been expanded more. Especially the whole "Bane's revolution", I wish that could have been more expanded, but then the movie would have lasted many more hours I guess. And speaking of the running time, this movie moves. I did not realize we were near the end until the climatic final scenes started. I really want to know how they move on from this movie. Do they move forward, like "Batman Beyond", do they do a full reboot, or do they go in a direction I cannot think of? Or do they wait until they do a full trilogy of the Superman movies until they come back to Batman? To think how low this franchise was with Batman and Robin. "Everybody, CHILL!" Terrible, god awful movie. Mr. Nolan, you have done a marvelous job. Thank you.

Haven't seen this one yet, but I saw the teaser trailer for Superman:Man of Steel. If the trailer was any indication, they'll have to come back to Batman in order to make money very soon.

I feel like a giant ***** but...I really don't want to go to the movie theater. I mean isn't everybody thinking about the killings when they walk in? Isn't anybody wondering which scene was showing when the killing started? I don't think I can watch it in peace at the theater...and yes, again, I realize I'm being a giant *****.

Kinda... it was very hard to ignore the 4 police officers that stood the whole time and escorted anyone out of the theater and back in...

I'm rating this one like Return of the Jedi. Easily the #3 ranked film in the Original Star Wars trilogy. Return of the Jedi has its great moments, and is a solid film and finale too. It just has the Ewoks you know? That kinda brings it down a notch or two. It's still a classic and an enjoyable film.

The Dark Knight Rises is still a solid movie and I enjoyed it. But it absolutly ranks #3 for me in this trilogy. (1.BB 2.TDK 3.TDKR) There's nothing wrong with that at all, this was a great trilogy. It had a ton of promise to be the best one as well. I thought the start up to the film was great and obviously the first encounter with Bats and Bane was great. But I agree with numerous posters on this site, it had some story/flow issues - too many plot "holes." These things make you think about it during the film, thus taking away from it. But hey, we all got a great trilogy from Nolan IMO. He put that bar oh so high after these first two films....

It was a great movie.
There were times I could tell that Joker was MEANT to be the bad guy, but Christopher Nolan did a brilliant job rewriting parts of it for Bane.

Nolan did a great job of really wrapping up pretty much every loose-end in his trilogy. (Minus the ending loose-end)

With Nolan done directing Batman, but with Syncopy and Nolan producing Man of Steel, maybe DC is just going to get Nolan to try to produce their Justice League movies, keep him involved, give him some control over everything.

I've never been a big Superman fan (Never really enjoyed any of the movies), but with Syncopy/Nolan doing Man of Steel I may finally see a Superman movie that I actually like.

And I would be all over Nolan doing Justice League.

Pretty much spot on IMO. Its is a great movie though, but its following one the best movies ever and one of the best acting jobs ever from Ledger. I would like to know what the plan for the 3rd movie was before he died.

And the first fight with Bane is unbelievable. A couple of times my jaw was dropped.

For Nolan to even sniff TDK is impressive and he does just that, loved it. Several times I was so into it I had stopped chewing the popcorn in my mouth so my full attention could be on the movie, subconciously of course...

I know what you mean. When a loud bang would happen in the movie, I would jump not because it was too loud but because I was completely entranced with the movies awesomeness and snapped back into consciousness when it happen.

Simply not a good movie in my opinion. The public hype it's getting is simply because it was supposed to be awesome. Why did they feel the need to make it close to 3 hours long? That long of a movie just muddled the plot. It seemed like each of their 47 characters they introduced had no back story or purpose for being in the movie.

Baine's voice was ridiculously obnoxious to try and decipher the entire time. Batman spent most of the movie in isolation, either in his home or in a hole. If I had walked in when Baine blew up the football stadium and someone told me I had literally missed nothing, they would have been right.

Honestly, the plot of the Dark Knight was messy too, but the Joker made it all worth it. Bane and the Catwoman are no Joker.

Just wondering... Can you name a few movies that you consider better than this one? (Not the other Batmans)....

Sorry dopey that it wasn't Magic Mike

Ah yes, insult my sexual orientation because I didn't like a movie everyone is supposed to like. I'm not trolling. I don't see how you can argue the fact that the first half of the movie drug on without much action at all. Bane and Batman's first fight was pathetic. It had the same acting ability as Rocky vs. Mr. T, but I was jacked to see it because something was actually happening!

The timeline of the entire movie was at best, ****ed. 8 years since the last movie, 3 months in the pit, 23 days till a nuclear explosion, then all of the sudden it's 12 hours. Very poor transitions to give the viewer a sense of how much time had gone by.

Bane, Catwoman, and Bane and Batman's little fling didn't have near the character development as the Joker.

As for movies I liked better:
Dumb & Dumber, The Sandlot, Inception, Se7en, The Lion King...

From my understanding and reading the majority of the Tone of this movie was from "The Dark Knight Returns" and a bit from "Nightfall".

TDK was a mix of "The Killing Joke", and "Joker" (I seem to recall another Batman book in there, but I can't remember off the top of my head.)

I honestly don't know which book Batman Begins was based off of...

Nolan drew a lot off of those two as well as a heavy dose of "No Man's Land"

BB takes a lot from Batman: Year One and "The Man Who Falls"

TDK had a lot of influence from "The Long Halloween"

I honestly can't decide which film I like better between this and TDK, they were shot in much different tones. TDK might be the better stand alone film, but to complete the trilogy this film was perfect and tied up everything. Bane was physically frightening even from my seat, Hathaway fit Selina's moral ambiguity to a t..Nolan could have tried to make this movie lighter after the first two but literally sends Bruce to Hell and back. Many great scenes and shots, Bane and Bat's first fight was absolutely Brutal, and pulled off with no music made it that much more stunning. Wish we would of seen more of Michael Caine, the moments he was onscreen had everyone welling up
