I went to the DKR yesterday. One word...Incredible! It starts out sort of slow but when it picks up, you won't want to quit watching.

***SPOILERS***

I must not have caught on correctly but what was the reason for bane to infiltrate the stock exchange? I know it had something to do with him controlling wayne's company but not sure exactly. The final 10 minutes blew my mind. I loved how they brought in Robin with this movie. It would have been even more epic if "Robin's" character was introduced in the first movie rather than being added just for the last one but it was still awesome. Speaking of that, I loved how his butler talks about his dream to see wayne with a family but they cannot acknowledge each other and then it happens in the end.

Just an incredible movie and conclusion to this Batman series.

Bane does this as part of the breaking of Bruce Wayne.

I have been hearing rumors that the last minute or so with Alfred might have been a dream

Not true. There were reasons why I think it's clear it wasn't a dream: the comment of the auto-pilot before he takes the bomb out to sea, the new bat signal that Gordon sees in the last five minutes, etc.

I think he played it off like he was dead so he could move on and let someone else be the symbol for the city. He says in Batman Begins batman doesn't need to be the same person.

I think it's pretty safe to say that even though his real name is 'Robin' that it is NOT the Robin like the comic books. Nolan has said MANY times he would never introduce Robin in his movies. I think John Blake will be a new 'batman' if they decide to reboot the series again, or even be a different hero, a la Nightwing.

That being said I recall them showing Batman in the helicopter watching the timer count down

They did show him as if he were still in the batwing whom it was about to blow. But in looking at IMBD's frequently asked questions for TDKR, they say that the shot of him still in the batwing was from right before he made it over that building by shooting at it.

Nolan said the shot was originally intended to go right before blowing the building up (that he flew through the fire) and he would then elect out right after it. But to make the audience believe that he had died, he decided to move the clip to later.

If Nolan said that then I'm was mislead by a trickster, a riddler you might say

Haha I see what you did there.

I would give you the link if I could so that you'd know I'm not BSing. But I haven't been able to get on the forum on a normal web browser for the longest time.. it just shows an error screen..

Just got home from seeing it. I've been avoiding spoilers/reviews so I stayed out of this thread.

Wasn't disappointed but not blown away either. TDKR and BB are two solid movies that go hand in hand. The Dark Knight seems like a separate movie that is just so far above the other two.

Bane was kind of cool but also kind of a brute who just beat people up or snapped their neck. It's like let's take the city hostage and try to blow it up, wow how original. The Joker was more psychological and cerebral, he wanted Gotham City to destroy itself from the inside out. Joker > Bane...and I don't think it's even close

which is staying true to the comics. one of the great parts about the comic is the diferences in the villians. but you're right joker>bane. heath ledger's portrayal of the joker by far made the second installment the gem of the trilogy.

I enjoyed Bane a bit more just because of the brute force and really cool/intimidating voice. This is not saying that he is "better than" the Joker. And it certainly doesn't compare to Ledger's performance. Just out of personal opinion I like the intimidating nature better.

However, I know most wouldn't agree. And that's totally okay. That's the beauty of movies and such. To each their own.
