I was planning on coming to a game or two from crapids. Glad I can spend money on something else now I guess.

Yup, told the wife tonight, let's use those vacation days to come back on Friday nights and do something more fun. Right now, I could stand naked on Michigan Avenue on a Friday and feel less humiliated than I do right now. Maybe I'll do that.

(I need to blow a Friday from work to get back to Iowa)

Beyond disappointed. It looks like it's going to need to be a year where we get enjoyment from watching the young players mature. I think we settled on a unit on defense that was a little better than the first 20 minutes, but we have a LONG ways to go.

We have big, big problems on both lines. I hope they improve a lot from Game 1 to Game 2.

Yeah, Rhoads is still a great coach IMO and I'm happy to have him.

We just need to clean house as far as our offensive coaching staff goes. It has been garbage since he got here.

How can you say he is a great coach when he is responsible for bringing in the staff that should be let go??

I love Paul Rhoads and he's really struggled to bring in talent, and we're seeing the end result of that. Filling up 70% of your classes with guys that had zero stars, no rivals profiles and zero other BCS offers, will catch up to you. IMO, there's no excuse for losing to UNI in year 4 of the program.

*Edit, year 5. Even worse.

Didn't take long for the joy of the season starting, to die.

Once again Lucy has yanked the football away just as Charlie Brown was about to boot a 60-yard FG. Usually it comes much later in the fall though. Oh well, was going to happen at some point. Guess we just decided to get it out of the way early this year.

We need to fire messing ham tonight; hire frank solich in the morning; institute the triple option as the new scheme; spend the next to weeks implementing it; then run Rohach as qb and nealy at tailback.

This is only a program buzz-killing, momentum ending game if you make it that way. You (we) are the fans who support the program and push past bad/tough losses. Are we in rough shape? Yes... There wasn't any doubt that we would be. However, it is the first game of the season. If we're 0-4, or 0-6 then I can stand hearing all of this about program killing losses, etc... If you're going to give up this easy on a young team then you really aren't Cyclone fans. Look at what we've had to endure in the past, and one loss is going to get you to give up??

Sorry to provide a bit of logic and forward thinking in this thread, but figured I could waste my time trying to talk a few of you so-called Cyclone fans off the ledge for a few minutes...

Is Frank Solich still coach at Ohio? Because if he's available, this is actually a really good idea.

So the fans are holding up their end of the bargain with sellout crowds. How about your end Rhoads?

This is why I enjoy basketball more. One bad loss early in the season doesn't take the enjoyment out of the rest of the season.
