Not the best time to use Creighton as a pick me up after what Colorado State just did to them.

But I agree, they will be fine. I am thinking this year might end up being a lot like last year. Not overly athletic, still a bit challenged on the offensive end. Not great but not bad. Is what it is.
This team is athletic unless by athletic you mean ”can hit a 3 pointer.” We have maybe one of those guys. Need to be able to make free throws to compensate

I think ISU is 33-56 at free throw line last two games (and how many misses on front end of 1 and 1?).

Not going to win that way
At this level you really don't drastically just start making free throws. Make free throws and we win this game.

What was ISU's % befoe the last two games?

Lipsey's bern missing a bunch too and he was 75% last year.

You don’t think the NBA drafts on potential? They don’t need to see it proven on the court. It’s insane who gets taken some years. Omaha could have been in the G League this year had he chosen that route.

I’ve watched probably 20x more nba than college. They aren’t going to spend a first round pick on Omaha if he doesn’t show a little something, it’s part of why one and done became a thing. Milan is more likely to get drafted as of now. Things can change though.

Halliburton was an excellent college player. He shot 43% from 3, was one of the best off the ball defenders in college basketball. He had a 3:1 A:TO. His last year at ISU he averaged 15, 6 and 7. He wasn’t a Buddy Hield type college player, but he was a terrific PG on a bad, poorly coached team.

This. On Haliburton’s first few games at ISU he was already one of the best pure point guards in earth. Rare in a generation court vision and wingspan combination.

Room for significant improvement. After watching a few other B12 games - As a team, the Cyclones need to show continuous improvement in most facets of the game.

Watched both games this tournament, and was underwhelmed with both. We were gifted the VCU victory really. Going to be a tough row to hoe with Texas A&M Sunday too.

Sometimes these loses are good in a way. It can show how we face adversity going forward.

Momcilovic continues to impress. Lipsey and Pav had good games in Kissimmee. But the rest were really, really bad.

Omaha’s game is really a head scratcher. Something amiss there. Just watching from afar it appears that his teammates are not really close to him.

I would also like to see where Omaha is gonna help us in big12 play outside of a couple spot minutes against a team with multiple bigs

Yeah, I think seeing what OU (who I thought would be one of the least of our problems in conference) has done this weekend has been eye opening.

What’s going worse is that Boise State beat VCU today without much problem. Unfortunately we just aren’t very good at the moment.

Saw that game. VCU defensively was much more aggressive with us than the Broncos. I think both VCU and Iowa State were showing signs of fatigue in both games.

Offensively, Virginia Tech was better. VCU was better on the other side. Virginia Tech’s Pedulla was raining three’s against us at will. Had we had a decent night at the line, it would’ve been much closer. I thought T.J. was focusing on free-throw shooting at practice. Didn’t you read that as well?
