Gilbert and C Jones need to start making some of their perimeter shots else TJ will need to rethink the offense. King McClure was right when he said Gilbert shot that late 3 with no confidence and basically just put the ball up in the air and hoped for the best.

If those 2 continue to struggle from the perimeter then I think we have no choice but to increase the volume from Tamin and Milan and work more low post with King and BRE. Yesterday we would have been better off with Milan taking 10 more contested shots than having Gilbert/C Jones go 2-14. Milan went 7-10 but should have taken 5 or 10 more the way he was shooting.

That was my take-home from yesterday as well, clonehome. The silver lining from yesterday looks pretty simple, if Gilbert/Jones combined to have a decent game instead of a terrible game, we probably win that game.

My larger worry is we just played two teams who will probably struggle to make the NCAA tourney, struggled against both and averaged 65 points, that's not very good.

This. On Haliburton’s first few games at ISU he was already one of the best pure point guards in earth. Rare in a generation court vision and wingspan combination.
And the team was rolling when he was handling the ball a lot. When Wiggington got back from injury, things changed. They still won a few big games, but the chemistry just seemed off. IMO, that team was better without Wiggington. I think him and Talon Horton-Tucker started competing for the ball, competing for shots and CSP didn't know how to manage the situation. Shayok tried to do it from the floor. The Ohio State game was a perfect example of the disfunction, we had no business losing that game. The talent disparity on the floor was amazing, we should have killed them

I love TJ but here’s his 2 coaching flaws the last 2 years and 6 games:

- His junkyard defense that results in easy transition points is less effective against teams with offenses that protect the ball

Less points means more points having to come from the half court offense and…

- His half court offense has never had more than 2 perimeter shooters, which makes it really ******* easy to guard

Do think it’s worth shouting out the fans who attended. Looked and sounded great on tv

Good grief. We are missing our starting shot blocking center. We missed FT’s. We are a young team for the most part. Young players make mistakes. TJ is fine.

It’s not a knock on him or questioning whether he’s the man for the job. It’s simply saying with the style of play he likes, those are the 2 areas that are consistently lacking.

We are 7-34 from 3 (20%) in our 2 games against decent teams. Ward doesn’t fix that. I think TJs system would be aided a bit if we had someone other than our primary ball handler and our true freshmen who could hit threes.

We aren’t getting any new guys. The guys we got need to play better and figure out their roles. To me this is a big issue right now. Tamin knows his role, BRE knows his role and Milan likely knows his, but the rest of the guys are struggling to know their role on the team. That is why everything looks so forced. I am confident TJ will get this done. He has the last two years.

Not sure who it was that said Boise easily handled VCU. I didn't watch the game, just looking at the box score and the flow, but it didn't look easy to me. Boise only won by four, trailed by one at half, and was down 10 eight minutes in. That's not easy in my book.

That tech loss was one of the low points of my bball fandom.
Are you 3? This isn't even in my top 100. There's one season that contained 25 worse games, my goodness you are myopic.

EDIT. I was corrected by OP. S/He was referring to the the TT game where we had the conference race in our hands and they were last in the league and we laid a big egg. Did not see that in thread. S/He is exonerated.
