Pretending to be smart by calling someone else dumb. Keep doing your thing.

Saying a person has "tunnel vision" isn't the same as calling someone "dumb," which is the word YOU used, not the poster. "Tunnel vision" means a person is focused on a particular thing while ignoring everything else. For example, he is tied with Babb for assist/to and is better than Shayok/Jacobson, and also an improvement from last year, from .95 to 1.27.

Ignoring that is why the poster said you have "tunnel vision." Interpreting that to mean he said you are "dumb" is, well, kind of dumb.

Ok, I see your point, but obviously we are providing a reason to start him beyond 'everyone gets a trophy.' He is an elite player and we are theorizing that maybe it could help bring him back to himself if he started. As others have said, this is not your average Cyclone; this is a one-and-done caliber guy.

That is EXACTLY the point. The goal is to get him and the rest of the team playing to their maximum capabilities. And, based on last year's performance, we know that his max is much higher on offense than he has shown so far. As I'm sure everyone agrees, it's how many minutes you play and at what point in the game that's important. At the same time, there are players who do play better starting than on the bench, and vice a versa. So, why not see if he is one of those players who does better as a starter? Also, if he starts for THT, it's also possible that THT's game will improve if he has a chance to sit first and see what's working and what is not.

Framing this in terms of who "deserves" to start is a bit archaic. As many have pointed out, he is actually outperforming when compared to last year in every area except shooting percentage.

It would be interesting to know just how many fans Randy gets all of his info from, I’m pretty sure it isn’t the majority.

Probably just talking with a few blue hairs near where he sits during games. Unlikely he is going over to the student section. Pretty sure that he doesn't wander into the upper deck because he might trip.

You know Prohm mentioned last week that Wigginton will be moving into a starting spot sooner rather than later? Maybe he's playing really well in practice?
Maybe, but the coach sees how well he is doing and he is not starting yet. LW needs to improve, which we all hope he does

TH-T getting rhythm and production in last couple games at the same time Wiggs is picking up production. Good competition for mins will help the team.
I'll just watch and trust coach makes right decisions on starters and minutes.

We’ve got 7 guys that will probably deserve to start. Coach Prohm will need to be a master diplomat in managing the minutes and egos (and I think he’s great at that).

Good point. After today's trouncing of Ole Miss, where Lard and Wig came off the bench and clearly surpassed their counterparts, I will tip the hat to my dissenters who don't agree with me and many others on this thread. Obviously that's how Prohm would handle the locker room and avoid the potential morale problem from starting guys who haven't earned it this year. You theorize CP says to everyone, 'want to start? earn it." In which case Prohm will look at the performance of Lard and Wig today and see it as the wide-open door to start his best guys Wednesday against WVU. Even if it would have been beneficial for Wiggington's development this year to experiment with starting him earlier based on last year's performance, it may be a net negative for the team based on morale and team culture concerns.

I do not think you can bench THT after the game he had in Oxford.

The computers have this squad as roughly tenth in the country now.

If it is not broke, and it sure is not broke right now, you do not fix it.

Good Cam and good Lindell are huge for us going forward, but no way should Lard start because he is too foul prone. If he eventually plays more minutes then MJ then so be it.

I don't know if I would say Lard clearly surpassed Jacobson. I hope Lard gets close to last year's performance.

It is truly amazing after last year that Wigginton and Lard are coming off the bench, and it's not out of line. The talent on this team is up there with our best teams. Consistent production from THT and Wigginton makes this a very dangerous team.
