You know Prohm mentioned last week that Wigginton will be moving into a starting spot sooner rather than later? Maybe he's playing really well in practice?

Prohm knows the Cyclones highest ceiling come March involves Wigginton and Lard being starters (as planned before the season) and now building the foundation for that to happen. He has his reasons for not starting either yet due to good play by the new guys and the injury setbacks that have slowed LW and CL's game.
I wouldn't even be surprised if he already has a game circled for each to make the move. Prohm is looking at the long term goal and seems to have a good feel for each of his teams on the roster moves needed to get the teams attention and confidence ready for the end of the year.

If Wigginton is hitting shots, he's a big plus for the team, but if not, his results feel similar to THT but in a different package. THT is bigger and stronger and has better defensive positioning, but Wigginton is much quicker. THT has long arms and a strong body for blocking and rebounding, Wigginton has major ups for blocking (less so) and rebounding (which, props to him on this)

Wigginton shoots the 3 better, but this year not by a lot, although I still feel more confident in his shooting than in THT's. THT is a mess around the rim, and his handle is really loose. Wild shots everywhere and I have concerns about his verticality. Wigginton, on the other hand, is lucky to get to the rim without falling over, which is his primary problem and has really bothered me this year.

This team needs somebody who can drive to the basket so badly.... so, so very badly. Offensively, we're like the anti-Kansas.

Agree with a lot of this. When Wigginton is under control in the lane, he's been pretty effective.

I really do not know why coming off the bench should drastically effect your statistical efficiency or your general level of play. "Getting into the flow of the game" sounds like one of those squishy "learn how to win" kind of clichés that losers use as an excuse.

I think Lindell is a different type of guy. He came here saying from Day 1 that he wanted to be the first Nova Scotian to play in the NBA. It is a mentality that allowed him to excel last year despite having so little support. Of course, even if he starts, there will be issues. I think his biggest issue is trying to hard to "fit in." He makes too many passes when I wish he would shoot. Nobody else on the team has talked about the NBA like he has. Let my Lindell start!

I think it's a tough spot for LW. He's gone from being the only guy on the roster who could create his own shot last year to a having to pick his spots on a team pretty well stocked with talent this year. It's a difficult transition. Plus he's probably trying to focus on some of the things that he was advised to improve on by the NBA last year when he tested the waters. It's just a lot of things pulling him in a lot of different directions. He'll figure it out.

Even putting up good stats last year, he is a player that has developed real bad habits. Starting him on the bench is your only option. He needs to know he is making mistakes. We had no choice but to play him after his mistakes last year because we sucked. Now we have a solid group, we can have him learn from these things by sitting him when the mistakes come around.

Sorry, but that is tunnel vision.

You'd make a great Middle School basketball coach tho.

I was just checking to see if everyone was feeling bad after the scolding by Randy Peterson about people dumping on Lindell.

It would be interesting to know just how many fans Randy gets all of his info from, I’m pretty sure it isn’t the majority.

But keep in mind, he is just the messenger. He is not stirring the pot at all. No siree. He is not a pot stirrer.

He’s never under control in the lane. He looks like he is playing on an ice rink when he tries to barge in there.

You clearly haven't watched him play. How about when he made two winning passes in the final minutes vs. KSU? He got Haliburton and Babb wide open threes off of driving and kicking. They missed unfortunately.

Our halfcourt offense is at its best when him and Haliburton are driving and kicking.

Last year he was worse in that regard. At least this year he thinks more about passing. Both seasons on 2P FGs he’s shooting well below what you need from your lead guard and main driver. For someone that athletic, it points to some poor decisions and coaching, although rarely getting a call hurts, too.

He’s in a 3P shooting slump, although that’s likely more to do with trying to change his game than it is not starting.

Wigginton has been great passing this year . He is a willing passer and has probably had some of the best skilled passes on the team. Just needs to reign in his shot selection and continue to improve his defense a bit.

His moment will come. It is just a matter of when.
