I think after the hype last yr the fair weather fans dropped off again I would think 3-0 will start bringing them back. To be fair though I considered dropping my FB tickets this yr. It takes a fair amount of time to attend a game compared to just turning on the radio/TV.

Then I thought about how fun it was even though it wasn't the yr some expected and I renewed anyway. I did switch to mobile passes this yr and they have been better seats than my seats last yr.
If there was going to be a season where we saw a dip, this was it. Provided a strong finish to the season as long as MC is here tix will be fine. Coming off a disappointing season that was viewed to be THE year, given the trends of much of CFB attendance, it’s still very good. ISU will still probably be in the top 25 in attendance.

me too.

officiating HS on friday nights and then turning around and going to ames the next day all while having a 7 month old at home takes its toll.

Some of the best crowds ISU has had were non sell outs. Its all about the attitude of the crowd. That famous Jeff Woody game vs OSU on Thursday night had a weird off the hook vibe, and the upper deck was hardly half full after halftime.
The Kansas Ice Bowl is one of the rowdiest games I've ever attended at the Jack.

FWIW (I know it’s early), we’re leading the conference in scoring defense and total defense.

Furthermore, through 3 weeks, we’re nationally top 10 for total defense, top 5 for rushing defense, and Baylor is top 20 in rushing offense. I like this matchup. Keep it loose, play smart on special teams.

There was a guy two rows ahead of us who went shirtless the whole game.

We used a cup to shovel out our seats and it took a while.

Best part was when players and coaches walked all around the stadium wall to high five the fans who stayed until the end.

Major kudos to senior band members who still left their shoes on the field.

At this moment I've got them as a slight favorite (assuming they beat Duke). The combination of a legit offense, the hype/emotion, playing at home, and the ability to kill on on STs should make that a very tough game. Leipold has done a phenomenal job there.
I know Conference season hasn't started yet, but when was the last time KU was 3-0 to start?

Yes, definitely no auto win this year or for the time being. And their QB Jalon Daniels must be pretty good though I know nothing about him. Does he seem similar to a Jalen Hurts type player?

I hope both us and KU win this week. It would then be a national spotlight game on 10-1, against the Jayhawks.

I would direct it towards their team.
Why? None of them did anything. They were all maybe in grade school at the time.
I think many still hold Baylor in contempt not only on account of their actions during those "times", but also their actions after those events and occurrences.

The Baylor Board of Regents, Administration and fanbase largely did not come down or come out hard against what was happening and the culture at that time, IIRC. They were so intent on winning and to some extent were willing to ignore what was going on. And those people are still there.

That's how maybe I would explain Baylor then, and Baylor now. I could be wrong. I hope their culture has changed more than just on appearance only. Certainly the culture in their BB and FB programs seems pretty good now, largely due to the present coaches.

Sure, but that doesn’t explain why anyone should direct a “No means no” chant at players who weren’t even remotely or tangentially involved or responsible.

Agree. And I hope our fans take the 'high road' and are respectful to Baylor players and fans. To a large extent.

That said, some hostility or contempt will likely remain.

What do I get for it?
I have to walk to far.
I never get a call or a thank you.
What's my return on investment?

Sorry to be so cynical, but this stuff truly exists.
Right. I attended Saturday for the first time in almost a decade. Hate to say it, but maybe I waited too long between visits, because I walked away from it all kind of wishing I was sitting in my living room rather than walking a half hour back to my car. Parking was a nightmare, we had to kick people out of our seats when we got in, people in our section weren't cheering, and the view from our seats wasn't as good as the view from my couch.
