It's legal for the kicker to have his plant foot ahead of the football. The announcers just assumed it was on the kicker. I have no idea who the foul was actually called on, but if they called it on the kicker, those guys should lose their jobs.

After the referee's whistle, prior to a free kick, all kicking team players must be inbounds and behind the ball when it is kicked. The holder of the kick, if he is necessary, may be beyond the line. The kicker may be beyond the line, with his plant foot, but his kicking foot may not be beyond the line until the ball is actually kicked.
They just said on the radio it was on #7. Ben Bruns talked to the official on the field, the official said the kicker can not be offsides, it was on #7..

Replay showed no one offsides - Big IVXII screwed ISU again.
Yeah, I know, I was just confirming the joke calls these refs are giving us.
Obviously, this was another game that we cost ourselves, but the refs certainly aren't making it any easier for us to compete in these games. Weather this was ISU or not, this is another game of **** calls and it's getting hard to watch. How many replays have gone in our favor this year and how many should have?
