John Kruk is insufferable when he's in the tv booth.Phils fan here. I moved here in 2007 without any strong allegiances from my youth, and slowly fell onto the bandwagon. It didn't hurt that I remembered being terrified/disgusted/fascinated by that 1993 Phillies team, especially John Kruk. Of course, that was all before this came out: New book: Lenny Dykstra is a racist, sexist and pervert
Mike Trout says what. How about Bryce Harper..two homers today. Kid could turn out to be one of the best to ever play the game.
Neither of my parents really follow baseball so in general I cheer for the midwest teams. Now that I'm at Wooster, Cleveland's probably my favorite team. I figure I've grown up an Iowa State fan and can take it.
I am going to my first A's game at the Coliseum (I don't care what it's called now - it will always be the Coliseum to me) at the end of this month. Despite having lived in the Bay Area for ten years (85-95), I never made it to an A's game. Something always interfered when we would make plans to check them out. But this time I am visiting SF with a friend who is going to a conference for work and he wanted someone who knew the area to go with him. My arm really had to be twisted to talk me into it... The Giants are out of town on those days, but we will still tour AT&T Park - a must see for any baseball fan who visits the area out there. Absolutely spectacular ballpark! Don't get me started on the food choices... so good! Anyway, I'm excited to see the A's play the Angels - should be good!
He's the worst. I feel bad for you. I'm watching on Fox Sports.UPDATE: Hawk Harrelson is still the most annoying tv commentator on the planet. This guy is unbelievable and such a homer.

Cardinals fan here. And I would like to note that by definition, the infield fly call was technically correct.
Giants. The "Say Hey" kid was my favorite player and got me hooked for life. Now Buster Posey is the man. Defending World Champs; with a repeat on the way.
No, it was not.
"An INFIELD FLY is a fair fly ball (not including a line drive nor an attempted bunt) which can be caught by an infielder with ordinary effort, when first and second, or first, second and third bases are occupied, before two are out."
"When it seems apparent that a batted ball will be an Infield Fly, the umpire shall immediately declare “Infield Fly†for the benefit of the runners. If the ball is near the baselines, the umpire shall declare “Infield Fly, if Fair.â€"
It was not under ordinary effort (baseball analysts like to use the word "camped"), and it was called half a second before the ball hit the ground, so not "immediately".
I won't try to say the umpire didn't call it too late, because he did, but I'm guessing he was waiting to see if Holliday would catch it.
Also, if you watch it, Kozma didn't have to sprint, he was jogging, and was actually under the ball, until he thought he heard Holliday call it and left his spot. I think this video shows the play well, and actually explains well why the umpire called it when he did.
