Don't leave out McBeth I love his work ethic and enthusiasm. He is always the first guy cheering on a teammate. Love his attitude as well we need another player like him.

I agree. I get a kick out of watching him on the bench. He always seems like he's having more fun out there than anyone.

I've said it before, and nothing against the other seniors, but we're going to miss Babb like crazy next year. The defensive tenacity, leadership, and overall character on the court will be missed. I'm pretty sure he's my favorite player in the last decade at ISU. It's great to see his shot falling this year (it was a struggle last year).

This team makes me want them to go deep into the NCAAs more for them as a group than for any other reason. The brotherhood on this team is astounding, and a great story that deserves to be told.

Take care of WV and things will fall into place. I'd also like to have a good showing in the big12 tourney as it has been a long, long time since we've had success there...

The quote thing won't work for me, but I agree with previous statement about babb. He is going to be the hardest to replace next year. I hope okoro sticks around. I could see him being the next babb, or maybe even better. I think a lot if people have forgotten about him, but I hope what has happened with his family and all motivates him like crazy to get out there and ball. I look forward to seeing him play more.

That press conference was so interesting to me. I am intrigued by these seniors. They are an interesting bunch. Watching Korie and Chris, especially....those guys took their time leaving the court last night.

They've had some rotten luck this year and they could ahve all easily been jaded and decided to tank the season. That's the assumption sometimes with kids who have been around the block. But each time they have gotten knocked down, they've gotten back up.

It's a good group of players that I will really miss watching next year. Hoiberg is exactly right....they put this program back on the map. I think it is extremely fitting that it took a group of transfers to rebuild a program that was hurt by a lot of players transfering.

Now, I hope they can go out and play their ***** off Saturday and officially get off that bubble.

You know, I had never seen it that way or realized it until I read your post, and you're exactly right. How's that for irony?

I must not have ever heard Booker in an interview before. On the court he looks/plays like a tough SOB. Didn't expect him to be so emotional and shy. Seems like a really nice guy

Check him out on twitter. He's an emotional roller coaster.

I haven't read many threads from yesterday, so I apologize if this was discussed already. If you haven't yet watched the player postgame on Cyclones.com, go check it out. They interviewed all of the seniors together, and I was kind of surprised at how tight their bond appeared to be. Booker was responding to a question when he said "I love these guys like brothers." At least 3 of the 4 responded immediately with an "I love you too" right in the middle of Booker's comments.

I was really struck by that as I didn't necessarily think that a senior class full of transfers would be quite that tight. Was cool to see, and you can tell these guys aren't done fighting for each other.

Keep in mind that 4 of these guys each had to sit out a year of basketball and developed a bond during those times. Not all at the same time but supporting a guy who can't play builds a bond. We owe these guys a lot. This program was a mess.

The understatement of the century. The previous regime had put the program into a nuclear winter and to have quality guys like Anderson, Babb, Luscious, Clyburn, Booker, McGee, Allen, Scotty, White, etc... buy into the new staff, buy into the direction of the program, and go out and perform at the level that they have is nothing short of amazing. Because of their efforts and the efforts of the staff you have a new generation of Cyclone fans rabid about basketball, older generations of Cyclone fans with a renewed energy about basketball, and you have young guns like Okoro, Niang, Thomas, Morris, Dorsey-Walker, etc... that want to be a part of what is going on at Iowa State.

The transformation of the program from being dead and buried a few short years ago to where it is now and where it is heading is nothing short of spectacular.

I'm sure it's been mentioned elsewhere but seeing Fred and Booker embrace for about 10 seconds at the senior pre-game ceremony was about as good as it gets in sports, especially considering the emotional roller-coaster Book appears to have gone thru this year. And though Book didn't score, he went out and played with more emotion and made a bigger contribution than he has all year. Book can be the x factor that helps make this a great post season.

In the postgame interview, I was struck by how Babb sounded more like a coach than a player. Without him, I think both last year and this year are a total train wreck.
I was thinking the same thing about Babb having some kind of coaching future after his interview. During games he seems to be the voice of reason, source of stability. During dead balls he is always talking to guys on the floor, calming them down.

Loved Babb's interview on radio. Said he came here on a visit and Fred wouldn't let him leave without a commitment. Said having a guy showing that much faith in him sold him on ISU.

Heard that interview too ... he sounded like a coach. In fact, I joined late thought it might have been Cornell Mann in the interview (only coach's voice I wouldn't recognize). He was citing the 27 FG w 21 assists stat ... and, "If we play like that ..."

I'm going to go out on a limb ... he'll coach someday.

Babb seems like he could be involved with tv broadcasting games in some way if he wanted to. He is more well spoken than many of the professional journalists they have on KXNO and obviously knows the game well.
