What that article said to me was that OU and OSU are already gone and are just trying to get out in front of it by saying they "tried" to make it work. The big12 is cooked.

Theres no way DeLoss would let his lapdog get fired or leave...

Apparently you missed this part...

Ironically, the source said, Texas supported another candidate for commissioner four years ago, when Beebe was hired, while OU supported Beebe

If a "high ranking Big 12 source" really did leak this, then it's already a done deal.

I'm thinking this thread should be changed to "Everyone in the Big XII but Texas wants Beebe gone." I believe that letting Nebraska and Colorado go so easily sparked the brains of other commissioners and school administrators on expansion, realignment and, you guessed it...how to get more MONEY!

Dan Beebe what an unmitigated disaster of a conf commissioner !!

When Nebraska walked last year the biggest mistake was NOT to find a suitable replacement ...

Well like Fricking Immediately ! But instead beebe sat on his rumpsteaks and now we're down 3 schools and it may be armegeddon for the left out four of ISU baylor kansas and kansas state...

Boys this is what happens when GREED overcomes Rational Thought!!!!

This is what happens when one school Texas has the conf commish in their back pocket....

If one or another with a big 12 or without a big 12 conf that knothead dan beebe is ....GONE BABY GONE AND GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!

I didn't really read it as that. I read it as if the Big 12 gets rid of Beebe and changes the written agreements of the conference they will stay. Whether this will all happen is another question, and if it doesn't they are gone.

Go eat a rack of ribs and drink some whiskey. You will see things different.

This is the most optimistic article about the conference I've read in a while. It's nice for a couple schools to say what sucks about the conference and let's fix it rather than pack up they're **** and leave.

I'm looking at you Nebraska, A&M and CU. Although I do understand Nebraska's desire to make a NCAA basketball tournament this century.

The other half of the demand is that they will replace Beebee with Barry Switzer.:jimlad:

Actually, I'm Ok with that. Bee Bee should be fired for having the same realignment issues two years in a row. Good Grief.

Just like MU announcement that they could leave.....Another media plant to pressure TX. I expect a lot more 'til they give in to equality or go. The Alamo is being over run by Santa Ana's army.

I have no source, but I have felt all along this is all posturing to get the conference "equal" and get Texas to cry uncle.

I hope we can stay together as a conference, but their proposed changes for the LHN do not seem adequate enough to stabilize this conference. I wish their compromise to Texas would have been as follows:

To stabilize this conference and maximize the value of its content for the good of every member we need to establish a Big XII network. Each member would be entitled to an equal share of that revenue with one exception. For the next 20 years we realize you would be giving up a lucrative contract that would net you $12m dollars per year. Therefore, the remaining conference members would guarantee that you would receive that share as a minimum over the next 20 years. If the network would provide more than $12m on an annual basis to each member then you would receive an equal share to everyone else.

This would allow Texas to still receive their contract value, yet it would allow the Big XII to maximize the value of it's content and provide exposure for every member.
