I'm guessing in a general sense he's talking about players who prioritize the Draft and their NFL potential ahead of their team and winning football games.
For an example see Texas on any passing play last weekend. There were 5-6 guys more concerned about adding a sack to their stats than sticking to their responsibilities.
Missed it, don't suppose there is any link to recorded version?
Didn't Jake Knott do just that last year by electing to have surgery when he did? He could have played the rest of the year and had surgery after the season, but it would have really hurt his future in the NFL. Great choice on his part if you ask me.
I can only guess he is talking about Clowney from SC.
Knott in the NFL helps ISU more than additional games played in Ames.
That's who the question was based on, but the answer seemed to imply someone at Iowa State being affected like that. The only one I can think of would be Knott last year, but that isn't the same situation as Clowney.
IIRC, Knott played in the Baylor game last year (after it was confirmed he was hurt) because his surgery was scheduled for after the Baylor game and the doctor told him he could not hurt it any more if he played but it will hurt..really bad. Jake the badass he is decided to play and kicked *** in his last game as a Cyclone even though he was playing in excruciating pain. That is Cyclone to look up to kids.Didn't Jake Knott do just that last year by electing to have surgery when he did? He wasn't implying someone from ISU. He just was talking about players he's seen throughout his coaching career. He's had much more years coaching at other places under his belt than at ISU.
Coach should of invited Jay in for a home game or two. You know he would of been all over that. Imagine seeing Jay Mohr down on the sidelines and there is a bad call against the Cyclones. Who would go more nuts Coach or Jay. Nice interview. Hopefully someone can send Jay a Cyclone football jersey for him and his boy.
