Not sure what you mean by that, I've never suggested we shouldn't be excited about it?

I'm beyond excited to be there with the other 30k+ Cyclone fans who make the trip!

This site needs a sarcasm button.

Was basically agreeing...who cares how many people are there. It's fantastic.

Pollard recently predicted we'd have 20k fans. That might be some of the ole " under promise, but over deliver" speak, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if we can 30k there.

The comments about 40k+ are crazy talk.

I get around
Agree to disagree. I think we had about 45% to half the stadium.

Here's a zoomed in shot of one section of the Memphis side of the stadium (I took it from the ISU side of the stadium). That's a very heavy presence of ISU fans on the Memphis side. Also there were ISU fans mixed in there that weren't wearing red. I think it's very easy to underestimate the number of ISU fans at the game. I took closeup pictures of the entire Memphis side of the field and it was pretty much the same as below.

From way up in the air the Memphis side looks purple (blue with red mixed in) but actually had a lot of ISU fans on the Memphis side of the field. My pictures of the ISU side of the field looks totally red with some small areas looking purple.

From looking at actual closeup pictures of the stands and seeing the ISU crowd that we had at the pre-game rally at the baseball stadium, also the crowds on Beale Street and other attractions around Memphis I tend to agree with Jamie and Matt that the ISU crowd would be about 30,000 if not more. And yes, I am an engineer, that's why I took zoomed in photos of the crowd at seating level.

Not sure you can officially tally every single Cyclone that will be in SA. If you could...it would push 30k
...but from what they will estimate by official tallies...a shade under 25k.

Honestly think this picture supports my 23k estimate. Looks 60-40 blue vs red. 40% of 60k is 24k and there weren’t 60k in the stadium.
Would also guess not everyone in red is an ISU fan. They just happened to have red clothing on...jacket or whatever.

Sorry, but red is not a normal color for clothing/coats...especially Memphis fans when they are playing against ISU. We had a group of 8 and not one of us had a red coat on. Mostly black. I'd say 45% is a decent estimate for the Liberty bowl and there weren't many open seats. As for Phoenix in 2000, that was 30k at least.

Being in a dome this year, what if we got every Clone fan to wear gold? Assuming WSU fans are going to wear their crimson, it would REALLY look like Jack Trice South. We had an unofficial "gold-out" once this season, why not again?
