They are the number 15 team in the country and have won 10+ games the last two years. Also 2 bowl wins in the last two years.

Come on, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ thats all that matters.

Doesn't change the fact that NEICyfan is a hawk troll. I'm sure they would've won 10+ games in the Big 12 the last 2 years too.

Yep, being a OC in the AAC is better than the Big 12.

This thread is beginning to fill up with stupid real quick.

Fiesta Bowl > no bowl.

It's not a conference deal. It's a program deal. He has a theoretical NFL QB right now, and a lot of success. He's putting up numbers, and we haven't done that in years.

Or there's us, where fans are talking hypothetical money that we may not have or spend, while he's at a place that can probably match what we throw out there.

Not really that stupid....not only for the reasons rabbuk stated but UCF is the largest university in Florida...recently read an article that said UCF is growing athleticly and may soon be moving to a big boy conference.

I'll believe the UCF OC position is better than ISU's when I see the salary comparison.

There are compelling arguments for UCF but I think an ambitious OC would see ISU (Big XII & presumably more money) as a step up.

No, its not stupid IF UCF gets into the Big 12. That is a big IF though.

I still wouldn't be upset with a coach K promotion, as long as the O staff is overhauled save Sturdy.

How many 63 year olds are ambitious though?

IMO, you cannot judge work ethic by age. In fact, I would argue that many guys that age know how to go to work every day, ie., see Wally Burnham and Johnny Orr. I get what you are saying, he might be ready to hang it up soon, but I'm not sure O'Leary would put up with someone slacking off. Just my 2 cents.

My Grandpa worked until he was 87 because he wanted to. Every individual has different circumstances.

Blum on murph&andy just said "it seems that Rhoads is doing his due diligence with the OC search and he has heard we have been interviewing BCS level guys that have Big12 and Big10 experience. ISU fans are going to be pleased, don't forget ISU has money to throw around."

Time to speculate. Mangino?

-although I'm not sure I'd want him or not? He's done a good job, but he is 63 years old, so I'm not sure how long he'd want to hang around. I guess I'd rather get a younger guy.

It was fun to watch the Central Florida offense, last night; but, I it might be difficult to pry an "older guy" away from living in central Florida.
