It is much more likely that no replacement has been chosen yet. There are no big secrets when it comes to a hire like this, especially this day and age. I imagine we will know who the finalists are eventually, and find out who the new OC ultimately is the morning of his announcement, just like you would expect in a high profile position like this.

I disagree with this. Remember how long it took for CPR to hire a DC. When Wally was announced it was still a pretty good secret.

2 Thoughts on timing here.
1) It won't be internal, if it is waiting this long is just stupid since it has a recruiting impact and would make it appear you didn't get what you really wanted or you would have announced way sooner
2) The fact that there hasn't been even a hint of rumors to me indicates we probably got the first guy we want, otherwise agents or whatever would have leaked it to try to get raises for their guys.

Based on the zero in the terms of rumors and the timing I think we got our guy and that guy has to be still coaching.

Or we haven't been given permission to talk to the guy we want until after his current team plays in their bowl game.

Just a few flaws with the logic in here.

You don't have to wait until the coach is done coaching to hire them. See Herman being hired by Ohio State before our Bowl game.

Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it's an internal promotion. See Messingham being promoted after the bowl season.

I think coaches and or schools need to give permission for a school or coach to contact a current coach. Some schools are lax some aren't.

Does anyone else think the reason Rhoads is waiting to name new coaches is to wait until after all of the NFL firings to maximize possible options?

True but maybe said coach wants to coach in their bowl game and doesn't want the current head coach and players to know he is leaving.

Yeah...I don't think he quite has Iowa fans shaking in their boots these days.

LOL, your hawks lost to everyone they played with a pulse. But that garbage conference was so pathetic, that they won 8 games.

I know the delusion in you group of misfits think you are some sort of national program, but you aren't. Noone cares about you, check TV ratings.

And I know the lack of grip on reality because you beat an equally ****** nebbie team has been off the charts.

kyle shanahan? why settle. lets go after daddy as OC and kubiak as qb coach. If Hoiborg can have us undefeated, think what two nfl coaches could do! Super Bowl 1A here we come.
Cripes if everyone thought the QB handling was a debacle image it if Mike Shanahan got a hold of it.

Does NDSU want your old OC? I heard he might apply. That'd make for a fun game 1
