Is Rocco better now then the start of the year? There were reasons we did what we did at the start of the year.
In the few times they actually let Rocco throw the ball in the first 3 games of the season he showed way more than enough promise that handling him with kiddie gloves the way they did was far too excessive. In fact, it’s probably the biggest reason why we were so upset with the conservative nature of the offense in those games (all the runs up the middle and short, non-threatening passes) - we KNEW Rocco could throw the ball.
Like I said earlier - I get that food poisoning was an issue during the Ohio game. But the bigger issue was that game was coached like it didn’t matter. Campbell took (or was forced into) the training wheels off Becht and the offense for the Big 12 season, a big part of the reason why we went 6-3 in conference. Had he decided to do it one week earlier against Ohio I’m 90% certain we win that game, and he would have saved himself from having to face the wrath of the fan base. Because like I said earlier - after the Ohio game his support was at an all-time low.
