There is a real disconnect. On the one hand we have a team that expects to win every week. On the other hand, we still have a fanbase that mostly still wears nutcups and chastity belts to each game. Somehow we need CMC and his staff to infect the fans with The Process. Please!!!

**** you Lucy, I'm not kicking it this time.

To be fair, we're an engineering school, the chastity belts are basically built-in.

If I had one win I could guarantee it would be UT in Ames. I think UT is going to be scary this year, Herman is a super douche, and that would mean by year 4 Campbell will have beaten every team in the conference. I like getting UT in Ames in mid-November.

Would prefer to have any early season game with OU like we did this past season with Hurts and a new OL. I doubt they'll be as explosive as they were the past two seasons, but by the end of the season I think their offense will still be very good.

Cyclone football fans, we are officially in the good old days. Enjoy.

Interesting. In no way am I complaining but I find it interesting no mention of Ray Lima. I understand there are no stats for taking on two o-line guys it is just really interesting.

Edit: while looking up Lima up I saw that he graduated in December. Pretty impressive.

No Rose either.

Fine by me.

Im still in the "6 wins, just get a bowl" mindset. Another year like last year and my mind might actually start to trust the process. :)

I expected 5ish wins in 2017 and 6ish for 2018 so I'm going full kool aid this year with 7 wins to hold myself in check.

If the trend continues of going two over in the regular season, that's the risk I'm willing to take.

The schedule is setup about as favorable as it will ever be for us this season in terms of who we have at home (especially Iowa) and when we play certain teams.

It all depends on the o-line improvement. If they struggle, we have a 8 win maximum ceiling (2017-2018 seasons). Until that unit proves it, we aren't a real CCG contender.

I 100% agree with you but here is the argument you could make for last year. ISU has a QB throw for 90ish yards and still almost wins and also wandering what could have been had Monty not throw that punch

14. Iowa State
QB Brock Purdy was the nation’s sixth-rated passer as a true freshman. Early enrollee RB Breece Hall will help fill the void left by David Montgomery. Replacing star WR Hakeem Butler remains a concern. The Cyclones return eight starters from the Big 12’s No. 2 defense, led by DE JaQuan Bailey and S Greg Eisworth. Redshirt freshman LB Will McDonald, who played in four games last season, will play a major role.
Others of note:
4) Oklahoma
7) Texas
18) Iowa
Just Missed: Oklahoma St.

Omaha
Nebraska at 17?? These polls just can't put the 90's behind them.

This has to be based mostly on the fact they have had two top 25 recruiting classes in a row. And as Twins noted, a lot of teams in the Big 10 west will take a step back this year. Wisconsin, Purdue and Northwestern will have inexperienced QBs. Illinois and Minnesota, meh. So it should be between Iowa and Nebraska. Actually Nebraska has a fairly realistic shot at 10-2. On the local radio here in Omaha they are talking 11-1 even.

It's only April/May, and the rankings posted here are the only post-spring practice projections I've seen so far. But it hints at Iowa State being considered a solid choice to finish 3rd in the Big 12. Think about that a minute.
Actually, considering how consistently the Cyclones under Matt Campbell has been underranked by the media, I’m think that picking us third basically guarantees ISU wins the conference title.
