A 10-point loss would be a moral victory to me. I think we lose by 4tds. The defense plays well but gets worn out because they are on the field the whole game.
I understand and can't disagree with you - but in year 7, I just can't get my head on board being happy with any kind of moral victory. Yes, we don't have a ton of experience. But allegedly we're a good development program which means being competitive IMO should be the baseline. Do I expect to beat the Oklahoma's of the world on the regular? You've nailed it on my confliction. I HATE that we're at the point where moral victories are good enough, but we are. To me, that means we look competitive in each phase of the game and keep it close through 3 quarters. Yes, that's nothing more than a moral victory, but I don't know that I can realistically hope for more than that based on what we've seen thus far. If we do those things and show development, I'll be pleased enough. But we need to continue to see growth and development each game. OSU had maybe the worst defense we'll play all year and still couldn't run the damn ball. Growth and development includes coaching staffs that are willing to adapt in-game.

Oh I’m not saying we’re better…or that their schedule has been easier than ours. I actually didn’t even consider that. I only am not yet convinced they have a top 5 defense. They may…but they haven’t played anyone good enough to warrant that kind of talk yet.In fairness, who have we really played to say that we are any good? Iowa just got shutout and OSU only scored 7 points against South Alabama. Not to mention that same OSU offense put 27 points and over 400 yards of offense on our defense. In terms of OU's schedule, they have played SMU, who is located in a recruiting hotbed and has talent at the skill positions, particularly at receiver and quarterback. They are similar to a UCF in terms of being in a recruiting hotbed and landing under-the-radar athletes. Then they played Cincinnati, who has a former power-five quarterback that played in Dan Mullen's high-powered Florida offenses, on the road and held them to two field goals. Cincinnati also went on the road and beat Pitt, a power five team. In other words, it's not like OU played The Citadel four-straight games. I think objectively speaking, OU has played a tougher schedule than us and has been tested more than we have up to this point.
I'm still not fully convinced this version of OU is on par with the Lincoln Riley OU teams..I would say that we lose by at least three touchdowns. I would love to be wrong….
I predict there will be at least one legitimate chance to do so and the review will say no targeting - if it even gets reviewed.I need to see the refs call targeting when ou targets our qb
I think it will be a really good test for a young team, win or lose.Oh I’m not saying we’re better…or that their schedule has been easier than ours. I actually didn’t even consider that.
