SportsLine's advanced computer model simulated 15 of the biggest games on the weekend slate 10,000 times to come up with the projected final scores and key stats.

Here are the results of some important games.

WEST VIRGINIA AT IOWA STATE, 7 P.M. ET
SportsLine Projection Model's score: Iowa State 25, West Virginia 24
Vegas line: West Virginia is favored by 6 (O/U 57.5)
Projected stats: West Virginia is upset in Ames despite Mountaineers QB Will Grier going off for 294 passing yards and 1.92 touchdowns. Wideout David Sills picks up 58 yards while running back Leddie Brown gets 42. Behind two projected turnovers forced by the Iowa State defense, the Cyclones get the big win. Running back Kene Nwangwu is tops on the team with 50 rushing yards and Hakeem Butler gets 56 receiving.

I get the whole unranked 2-3 team beating the #6 team looks like an upset. But I feel like we’re getting to the point in our program where wins like this shouldn’t be considered “upsets” any more. We’re not a powerhouse by any means but I feel like we have a more than small chance to win every game we play. I consider an upset more like the 2009 Nebraska and 2011 OSU games where we probably were slightly overlooked. No one overlooks us anymore
What is interesting is everyone can play the "shoulda, woulda, coulda" game. If ISU dominated game one, have a better idea of O-line play against TOE, perhaps Purdy is splitting time against a bad OU team. This team could've been 4-2 or 5-1 currently. IT is what it is and I am excited, but agree that it won't be an upset when you look at the talent, coaching and reality of the situation.

I have money on the UNDER as well as spread and Iowa State ML. Maybe I should add more?...

(a) Wooo!

(b) We will be lucky if David Sills does not have 58 yards on a single pass play, let alone the entire game.

Ahhh, the Rules of Field Storming. I'm still catching up on the latest version of the Rules of Court Storming.

That's the thing. There are no rules. You're the one imposing the rule by saying, "We have to win the B12 for it to be okay for me."

Storming is a spontaneous, no thought, excited reaction.

You are upset that I've imposed a "rule" upon myself? (Which I didn't even do) People can rush the field for a first down for all I care. Your "Get off my lawn" parallel makes no sense. I'm all for watching people play on my lawn. I'd just rather watch. Not sure why you care about what I prefer to do with my own time.

PS - I never said "We have to win the B12 for it to be okay for me."

Yeah, I don't like the rules....or idea there are any. I remember the bball controversies from Hawk fans about the rules and our fans storming the court.

Last year I remember the week after OU when we stormed vs TCU...for whatever reason, that still didn't "feel" like a big upset (maybe the OU game felt bigger to me).

Yeah....I get in trouble at my house A LOT when I fall into the "shoulda, coulda, woulda" as we all loyal Cyclone's know there have been a few BIG "shoulda, coulda, woulda's" in our lifetime, lol.

But what you said above is so true. After watching TCU last night, feeling like that was a bad loss now (not a near good win, etc). I would LOVE to play Iowa now...but that's not how it works. AND, as we all know too well....would love to swap KSU game with OU this year...as KSU will likely get better....OU may not be what everyone that they were. Ah, such is life and sports. :)

BUT, and I say this with all honestly...I love our fb staff because they don't talk like we as fans do. Each week they expect to win and prepare for what's in front of them. Tomorrow night won't be an upset if we win. (to them...to me it will be only because of the current ranking and the play it will get nationally due to the rankings).

Agreed. Coaches and players are mentally stronger than us fans. I don't believe in fate or anything, but things happen as they are supposed to for the fact that they happen. So it will be tough to look back at where thy could've won, but I still believe they run the table and that starts with WVU.
For the rough start, I would take a team that goes 9-3 and overcomes adversity any season.

Has there been word on who's calling the game?

If it's Gus, and ISU wins...

'Purdy. Down the sideliiiiIIIINE....caught! Butler. Big fella, cashing in.'

**did people actually dance in this manner/style in 1980? Golly.

I want us to wear the all black uniforms and then have the team come in with the “Cyclone weather alert” part and then add something like “this has caused a blackout in the Ames area” or something like that. Would be pretty sweet.
I realize this is last minute, but would be really cool.

I've heard multiple national guys pick ISU as a likely upset. I prefer to be more under the radar. WVU is going to be ready.
THere is a story of Michael Jordan waiting outside a visiting teams bus, smoking a cigar. The team gets off the bus and Jordan asks, "which one of you think you're guarding me tonight?" I am paraphrasing, but the point is in order to be great, people know who you are and welcome them. I don't prefer this mindset that has plagued this community for so long that we should be under the radar or catch people by surprise. Campbell expects greatness out of his players, coaches and staff. We should expect greatness just the same. Quit with the hedging of your confidence as s fan of this football team and embrace the challenge. Embrace the identity that this team is damn good and will continue to prove it, no matter who picks them to win or lose.
