Purdue's bigs are just going to pound the ball inside. Freshman Solomon is going to get into foul trouble early. I can see a lot of our balls knocked down if we try to drive it in. The three has to rain on them to soften their defense.

Whats great about Iowa is that they dont really recruit athletic ability, so improvement is hard to make. Sure you can get hot shooting the ball from time to time but it just means you are terribly inconsistent and a perennial bubble team (See history of Iowa the past decade).

I think you can run Hass out of the gym fast. Has some good moves but slow and kind of unathletic. Swanigan is a stud and the bigs will have their hands full. They guard way off the 3 point line so our guards should get some good looks.

After the last 2 games ISU is due for a good 3 point shooting game as well and they will clean a lot of stuff up. Should be a nice win for the team.

The vibe I got from reading their board is that a lot of them aren't too confident. Not sure how I feel yet about the matchup. Just worried Swanigan could really go off

I was at the 2 games today. First of all I don't think haas will kill us. He is a cluts and has 0 hand eye coordination. Swanigan is going to get his, but think our defensive key is limiting Vincent Edwards. He's a 3-4 combo and probably their second best scorer. If we can get in transition were going to win comfortably. Also, Vermont missed a lot of open 3s. Purdue has played bad against teams with athletic guard who can shoot. I think Iowa state has the advantage because of the guard advantage. We will also win if we can rebound at a somewhat decent clip. My takeaway was that Iowa state should win, but they have to shoot a much higher percentage and more threes.

Purdue had some lovely fans that suddenly turned into Nevada converts as soon as our game tipped off tonight.

You mean PurBOO fans? They literally booed when ISU's players were going to the locker room and coming out.

It'll be a tough matchup and ISU's going to have to play really well and be smarter with the ball to have a chance, but eyeballing it Vermont was an easier out than NV.

Purdue didn't dominate Vermont inside as much as you would expect and they were much bigger than Vermont. To win I expect Matty or Naz will have to go off for about 30 points. One of them should be open.

After doing that thread I feel like this is a much worse matchup for Purdue. They mention multiple times that a huge weakness is giving up good looks from 3. That's ISU's gam and if they are falling, we could be in for a fun game. ISU key is you not let Purdue get comfortable on the glass.

Seems like the majority of them have developed a healthy respect of us. I checked out KenPom.com earlier and he gives us a 48% chance of winning, with the final margin being just one point in their favor.

In other words buckle up and check the cup!
