All I know is it's my brothers 60th bday, he went to Purdue and only one other time (that I recall) we've played Purdue in my life (Orrs Cyclones upset then #2 Purdue). I'll be in the Chicagoland area just for the weekend (then back to West Virginia to 'respectfully' gloat about our B12 Championship).
Oooooh weeeee! Talk about the stars lining up.
Anyone know how I can tickets without breaking the bank?

We played them back when McDermott was here. Don't recall the year, but I think we won.

Play our game and move on. We will definitely need the 3's, but the inside game will work given the great play from both Bowie and Young, along with Burton. Purdue's inside game reminds of Gonzaga (maybe better at times), but the outside game along with guard play favors ISU in a big way. Should be a fun game!

Purdue's bigs are just going to pound the ball inside. Freshman Solomon is going to get into foul trouble early. I can see a lot of our balls knocked down if we try to drive it in. The three has to rain on them to soften their defense.
Holden and Carter may get some minutes. Monte mid range shots will work.

I work with several Purdue grads/fans. They are scared of Iowa State, as they should be.

Key will be to score early and often. Play with a lead and they are in trouble.

Also, Purdue's bigs are prone to foul trouble. Force them to guard in space.

Might be a good time to let Solomon loose at the three point line for a couple shots.

We need to play with pace...if we do, those two big guys will whither. We need to run the absolute **** out of them and make them tired...they'll make mistakes and foul. We need good minutes from our bench to just fly up and down the court. We get caught in a 1/2 court game and it will be a LONG night.

I like this idea, but it has to happen very early on to set a tone. It would be less about him making the shot than it would be him just taking the shot. He spends a lot of time out on the perimeter as it is to set picks. Him taking an early shot from back there will force the Purdue bigs to come out of the paint.

I'm enjoying reading most of the comments. A lot of them respect us and think the game could go either way.

I'll be honest: I'm worried about Purdue. Swanigan is potentially a matchup nightmare for us. I'm excited to see how Young can do defending him. If we can hit three's early to pull Swanigan out to the perimeter then take advantage of our slashing ability, I think we will be fine. Hopefully we get Swanigan in foul trouble early to take him out of the game. I'm not too worried about Haas as he's a clutz.

Really worried about their inside/outside game. B12 doesn't really have any dominate big guys other than Motley and he scored at will against us.

We will have to bring the double team against them and their guards are good 3 pt shooters. Our rotations will have to be quick.

We'll have to be very efficient on offense like we were at home against Baylor to win this game.

Yep. This is a game where ISU needs a fast start with perimeter shots falling. There will be plenty of transition opportunities, but in the half court we need their bigs working all the way out to the three point line and not camped down low. If we do that, there will be opportunities to drive the land and get to the line later in the game.

I think we get em.

Gotta break down that Michigan game tape. Haas isn't that great and misses bunnies. I don't think he plays that much. My money is on Burton having another great game.

Vermont had a lot of open chances from 3 and jumpers, we will just need to take advantage of him.

Haas is Adam Woodbury-esque. 7'2'' but not much skill and probably won't play a ton against a small Iowa State lineup.

I would not be surprised if Prohm went a little smaller with more Bowie and less Young. Bowie can play outside on offense and we could draw their bigs away from the hoop that way. On the other end Swanigan is going to get his; he will be the best big on the floor and will be right there with Monte for best player on the floor period. (Hopefully Deonte goes off and has something to say about that.)

Should be a good game.
