wow, that's a harsh lead-in. Might as well just read "how does this hot trash player with no business being a QB end up having a successful NFL game"
CJ Ham: 5'11" 250 lbApparently all you need to be a NFL fullback is big quads????
He's in the PERFECT situation. Top notch Head Coach/Offensive Play Caller. Elite surrounding talent from RB to TE, WR to OL. High level defense. Good not great division with good weather.Harsh but fair. I just hope he keeps proving people (like me) wrong.
Honestly not a whole lot unlike Garoppolo's coming out season with the PatsHe's in the PERFECT situation. Top notch Head Coach/Offensive Play Caller. Elite surrounding talent from RB to TE, WR to OL. High level defense. Good not great division with good weather.
One the best QB's we ever had and people bag on him constantly.

Lazard said the same in a podcast...essentially he was playing sooner than expected and some freshman year tape was used against him.Brock's experience bit him a little bit in the draft process. There was sooo much tape to dissect, the harder you look the more you'll find. The knocks on him are fair. Not great size, average arm, not overly athletic, can make dumb decision from time to time. That doesn't take into account a guy who led a historically bad program to 4 straight bowls, NY6 win, first conf championship appearance and rewrote basically every school record possible. Things they can't measure - heart, leadership, moxie - Brock has a ton of. Give me a Brock Purdy 10/10 over a Drew Lock type who has all the tools, but not "it".
I honestly was thinking when i read the article...i wonder if that is something we (or NIL) could do for a QB. Meaning, they get coaching...but say we tell JJ Kohl or Dekkers "during the summer of your first year after starting, we will send you to work with XYZ group to help with XYZ"To bad that guy don’t come work with our quarterbacks for like two weeks.
You're right on with the experience angle - Brock's shortcomings were a lot less of a mystery than a similar player that maybe only started a year or two.Brock's experience bit him a little bit in the draft process.
