Ever heard of hill sprints? I know you have lol just do a lift at Lied or State Gym then go to the Cyride and Park hill opposite side of the practice facility. Get in 5-6 hill sprints and after each workout add onto that and do 7-8 the next time. I did this one summer during my Kinesiology internship and built up to 33 hills sprints. Dropped weight and going on a run had never been so easy.

Eat less, boom weight loss. You don't need to do cardio to lose weight if you don't want.

Yes and that's another thing. The nutrition guide is not ridiculous at all. There are a lot of decent things on there. I should note that I don't really follow it. I watch what I eat and how much but not the guide religiously. The way I do it, to keep myself sane, Is I say that I can have a bad meal three times a week. The rest, I try to stay pretty strict on.

I hate cardio too but I look forward to working out 4/5 days. The only other advice I have is to make sure you have good cross training shoes. I didn't for a day and my feet just killed me.

How many days a week is it?

If you hate cardio, join a gym and lift weights. I'm in the same boat with cardio, so I lift 3 times each week. Either way, the 500 calories you burn from working out (on a good workout day) won't mean anything if you allow yourself to eat 500 calories more because of it. Diet>>>>>>>>Any exercise program on the planet.

As for p90x, I've done Insanity but not that. Personally, I'd much rather find a group at the gym that plays basketball a few times a week.

Where does that happen at?

I've heard good things about bulimia.

Are these your sources?

This.

I've lost 20 pounds since Christmas, just by some simple diet changes and portion control.

I went to State Gym for the first time yesterday. Biked six miles, which I'm pretty proud of, seeing how this was the first time I actually worked out in quite some time.

This is pretty cheap, and a little less intense but rowing machines work out a lot more of your body than you would expect (cardio plus arms and legs and chest and back). Easy to do indoors when you don't want to run or jump around doing p90x. The "video review" down in the reviews is a little more informative:

Amazon.com: Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine: Sports & Outdoors

...apparently rower's hearts grow so big they run out of room and have to torpedo shape into a narrower spot:

Maybe not what your looking for, but currently I'm overweight at 340 at 6'3. I decided I wanted to do something about it. I was at 370, started with eating right and walking. At 340 I decided to go with a program more towards Cardio as opposed to muscle building. So I picked up the Turbofire DVDs cheaply on Amazon. That was 5 weeks ago. I'm only down to 335, however I have lost 4 inches off of waist. My legs and arms are becoming more and more defined everyday. This is in part to the resistnace band training that is included in the Turbofire schedule. Nothing like P90X has you do, but still a good amount for an overweight guy.

There are some drawbacks. I'm pretty convinced that this program was designed with chicks in mind, there are guys they use as examples in the video...but still.

HOWEVER.

Most of the women in the videos wear Yoga pants. So its not all too bad.

I've been finishing my sessions with Mikes Mix recovery drink. Which is better tasing (imo) and far cheaper than the p90X stuff.

Mike's Mix Recovery Drink

Congrats! I was 348 and pushing a new shirt size. I lifted, ran, and ensured 8 hrs of sleep. Stalled out at 335, went no carb to get down to 297 and now my new shirt size is going the other way! Keep it up!

I always start and then hit a wall when I drop 20 lbs and get frustrated because I can't figure out what I need to do to get through the wall.

You should be changing your workup every 4 weeks because that is about how long it takes for you body to acclimate to a workout. You can do this by doing a routine longer/harder or do something completely different.

Not necessarily. When I decided to lose weight, I needed to eat more, because I wasn't eating on a steady schedule. I went from one real meal each day to 3 balanced meals and dropped 50 pounds.

Sometimes, just eating less means that your metabolism slows down to hold onto what you did eat. Eating steadily is better than just eating less.

I'm currently on week 5 of the P90X "lean" program that has more cardio and less resistance workouts. I'm really enjoying it so far. I ran track in college, did nothing for about 6 years, and just started working out again about a year ago. Since starting P90X I feel like I'm in as good of shape now as I have been since college. My wife is also doing it and really likes it. I would recommend it.

I'll throw in for Insanity too. I'm 3 workouts from finishing the program and it's been great. The whole purpose is that no matter how good of shape you're in, you can push yourself with these workouts. Beginners through experts.

Insanity is meant to get you in cardio shape and build lean muscle and increase flexibility. Losing weight comes from diet. A lot of people confuse the two. Of course a combination will be the best way to increase your overall health.
