What a mess of a program.

So they’re basically admitting they aren’t starting their best QB because of $$. What a joke.

Starting Quinn this year will pay off big time next year. '23 is setting up to be the year, we'll show improvement this year, 8/9 wins... but '23 we're going to be nasty.

Not exactly sure.
This might be the dumbest thing ever. Let's start the kid is not as good because people who have not coached or watched practice, want the really good high school player to play. Why would any booster tell a coach or AD who to play. I can't imagine any Booster at Alabama or Georgia telling the coaches who to play and those coaches listening. Texas will be a Dumpster fire, Much like Auburn, as long as they allow Boosters to control the program.
I remember the stories (never heard the exact team though) that a basketball coach was complaining that a booster was paying this player NIL money to attend their school and the coach didn’t want them.

If you are at a big time program and you win you can tell donors to pound sand, otherwise this will be an issue.
Yeah but if you win because of donors input, i.e starting Ewers and not Card, then you won't ever get the credit for winning and just be further under the donors thumb. Granted, that's what the donors want, but doesn't make for a good program. Either stand up to them early and often or never stand up to them and just be a pawn for them.

You have to remember that a post like that happens here as well, no reason to think it’s real. Though I don’t visit their boards so have no idea if the person is actually connected.

I would guess that a guy like Saban would have no problem telling this to donors.

Texas has a reputation of donors trying to run the program.
The more a coach wins, the more he can get away with. Coaches like Saban can do whatever he wants, and the boosters will back him as long as he keeps winning them championships.
But if we would start to fall off, he won't, but if he did, people would start to *****.

Donors called up Sark and said they invested a lot of money into Quinn so he needs to start.

That's what I was suspecting. I thought I read that Hudson Card was doing better in practice and the Spring Game.

Texas will be in complete shambles next season. Between Manning and Ewers, one of them is going to transfer out. Neither will likely accept sitting for a year. The demise of Texas continues and I absolutely love it. They're going to get absolutely destroyed in the SEC.
