I saw a model that looked like stl and Peoria might get hit. More south of us I think.

A number like 20 or 30% can also mean its going to rain, we just don't know where - that is, widely scattered showers. 20 or 30% chance of rain at any one locale, but pretty much assured that rain will fall somewhere in the region.

Rain stays SE of Ames.

Also... Probability of Precipiation (PoP) isn't as simple of a percentage as you are all making it out to be. There's actually a lot of thought that goes into those percentages.

PoP = C x A

Where C = Confidence that measurable precipitation (0.01") occurs somewhere in the area that you are forecasting for
Where A = The percent of area that will see 0.01" or more.

Examples

0.80 confidence x 0.40 area = 32%
0.95 confidence x 0.75 area = 71%
0.90 conficence x 0.22 area = 20%

i'm pretty sure it says in the bible somewhere "thou rain shall not fall on thy first game of the season, for it shall be sunny and 70"

Ed Wilson said there should be around 18 inches of snow. So I'm expecting a sunny day, no rain and mid 80's

HEY, WEATHERMAN!!!! A bunch of non-weathermen (or women) were having a mighty fine time on this here website, with no technical knowledge whatsoever, arguing about all things weather related. We don't need YOU, coming in here, with your smartypants attitude, and ACTUAL INFORMATION, to SCREW THAT UP! Now GTFO!
