3 syllabi down.
3 more are an easy finish tonight.

Then the other course, but that starts in March. Plenty of time.
I’ve got 2 of mine done, 2 more to go.
One of them I have to do a restructure for an accommodation where the student can’t come to the lecture or the lab.
I am not looking forward to that one.

Do you change the course syllabus for that scenario, or make like an individual arrangement with that student?
It doesn't exactly come up in history, with the exception of a guy at Simpson who had an accommodation to Zoom in, which was simple and cool to work out.

Individual arrangement. I’ll probably come up with a modified schedule that will fit into the standard syllabus breakdown.

Well somebody suffered from a case of inattentive driving today. They put their car under the back end of a semi trailer on Hwy 20 tonight. peeled the roof off clear back to the trunk. It'll be a miracle if the people in the car weren't killed.

I'm surprised this doesn't even happen more often.

I nearly get side swiped a fair amount just driving ten minutes to work and each time I catch a glimpse of a phone screen.

Yeah. On our drive home from Iowa this evening we started passing an SUV on 35. The road started a gentle curve to the right but the SUV wasn't taking the curve. I honked a quick double honk as they were already veering into our lane. They swerved back into their lane. As we pass them the driver gives us a what the ****? look with hands up in the air. So they knew they were out of their lane as we were passing them but they still think they did nothing wrong and we honked for no reason? People are stupid.

We got into the Twin Cities and we were cruising down 169. A car with the back window mostly obscured with snow and ice was ahead of us. We were in the left lane passing other traffic. Suddenly about 4 huge chunks of snow and ice blew up in the air off of the car in front of us and totally nailed our car - the biggest one top dead center of our windshield. We watched it happen but we were boxed in and couldn't do anything to avoid it. It sounded like someone threw an armload of 2x4s at our car. Don't bother to clean off your car at all - that **** will take care of itself when the inside of the car warms up enough. People are stupid.

Thanks for all of the encouraging driving stories! Making a rare sojourn outside of the Twin Cities metro tomorrow and driving to the Quad Cities. So looking forward to the I-80 semi-trailer demolition derby between IC and the Quads. And gonna miss the bowl game. Hope it's a good one worth watching later.

I spent 6 -7 months driving back and forth between Nevada & Omaha every week. This was before smart phones. You see all sorts of people not paying attention to the road. It's not just cell phones.

True dat. I thought I had hit the idiot trifecta one day long ago when on a trip I saw someone reading a novel, another reading a newspaper and another apparently doing a crossword puzzle. All on the same day. I was just about ready to turn in my drivers license that day.

People are stupid.

Coming home from a kids game a month ago. Came up to a stop sign where they were making a left and I was making a right and saw that they were watching a TV show on their phone attached to their windshield

Well, that's just ******* great. But to be expected, it's the Boxster holiday weather travel curse still working. Retired guy would usually say screw it and opt out but this ain't an opt out kind of thing. Will probably hit the worst in the dark for the semi races on 80.
