Sorry to hear that, will keep his family in our prayers.

On a different note, looks like I may be down in your neck of the woods more often starting in a couple months. Are there certain parts of CR that best to avoid for living?

Meh yes and no. There is an area around Redmond Park that can be what I would call "Iowa rough" with probably the highest concentrations of theft, and crime like that. That is also where 90% of the targeted shootings are. Basically between 1st Ave and 8th Ave SE and 11th street to 19th street. Outside of that it is fairly fine.

Anywhere on the NE side past 19th street will be fine. The area around Coe has cleaned up quite a bit in the last decade.

Son moving here?

You're a person who makes a guy feel good about themselves.................
Sorry, was meant to be funny, always a risk. Failed humor has killed careers, more dangerous online where can't read body language etal. Was trying to riff off your senior discount experience.

And of mentally picturing yourself as being younger than you actually are, which everyone with self awareness realizes at some point.

Again, sorry.

Id say also be cognizant of train tracks if train noise bothers you.

No, I knew you were just joking and just flipping it back. Don’t apologize, we good.

Taking a job a little west but I’m sure he will want to be around a larger popular base.

I lived right next to some train tracks many many years ago. Woke me up the first time and after that I just slept right through it. The bothersome part was when trying to watch TV

I've always found that driving though Cedar Rapids is very similar to driving through Rochester, MN. The biggest differences are that one of these places has a giant hospital and the other smells kind of funny (probably due to its proximity to the University of Iowa).

Plenty of places on the west side but I will admit I know almost nothing about that side of town. It does have Target/Wal-Mart etc around the old Westdale area. Fairfax is pretty much a suburb at this point and likely has options as well. If he is working west I would suggest these options or somewhere close to 100 for quicker access to get to 30 and head west.

If you do it right only an hour and 45 minutes to Hilton/JTS these days.

I'd say to stay away from the part that smells like fermented cereal.

So the SW far SW side including one mobile home park, and a neighborhood around Penford/the police station. I just wish Quaker would release crunchy berry smells more often.
