Found out my old boss's son sold the business and is a stay at home dad, his wife works for the UW system so she brings home the bacon. However all the equipment is still at the shop which is weird. Said they still plan on building in a couple years, good thing they know someone who builds houses.

Spent the last two days roofing a house. My feet are shredded.

Yeah we've been sheeting the one we're doing now. It's a 6 so it's not bad, but I was doing some of it by myself so it was a lot of standing in one spot waiting for the next sheet to be cut and handed up, so my feet and calves hurt pretty bad last night. I'm fine if I'm constantly moving. We ran out out material so we didn't finish.

So, you are saying that you sheet yourself, all over the house.

edit: Which just reminded me of the Tucker Max books from 10 years ago. That was a hell of a story.

What a day and week. Orientation week for ISU so we've been busy every day. Only one at my position as the dough person which I do like because I have a certain way I want our dough organized.

Tonight I will be at 40 hours with a day to go but think I will have done enough to have tomorrow off.

We did a Butzbus run down to a fairly new restaurant in Winterset tonight. It's called "Urban on the Square". Food was excellent, and proportions fit the price ($15-20 for most of the entrees). The staff were friendly and took great care of us (there were 15 of us). They serve a mix of seafoods, pastas, and a few steak/burger meals.
Highly recommend.

Back to school staff meetings fire up this week.

In just a few years the refreshed feeling of summer break and getting back to start anew, catch up with colleagues etc. has turned into a much different feeling with staff only wondering what the new checklist band-aid is for the new year and waiting for the week to be over.
